Modafinil

I thought all my dreams had come at once when I saw the price of modalert. Didn't work out unfortunately. Make me so ill I couldn't take them anymore.

I've found modafinil is quite subtle, nothing like other stims and will probably seem shite if you're a hardened speed(or similar) user.

I used modalert last year for studying, writing essays and reading. I found it very useful, as did my friends. There was no real push, but if you set about what you wanted to accomplish while on it then you'd have really, really good focus to set about it. I found two problems with it: 1) I'd get quite a headache after about the 8 hour mark of dropping and 2) I'd be waaaay more irritable about things, especially things which would interrupt my study. All in all I'd say I found it highly beneficial for the ends I was working towards.

Sounds like modafalert might be a good shout then. I'm a sucker for low-dosing drugs anyway so would probably do the same for this and hopefully that would avoid any headaches.

Chew the motherlicking modalert tho - don't just swallow it. I think it's even shitter if you just swallow it. At least you feel something if you chew it along with the skull-crushing headache and nausea.

I took modifil once as it was given to me - I had nothing to do that day and walked in to town, wound up in the library at about 11am and walked out at 4pm having read the whole of Brave New World - again. Complete concentration - probably excellent fro revising and exams

Been living on it an a brutal brnzo addittiction fot bouy 3 weeks now-

They are total polat opposites, And if you think people don't know your on it, they do. I wrote a post about combining larger Etiz and modoafinifil daily. People contributed. I think its only fair I update - even if the update aint all 'Sunnyshine and lollipops'

I've only ever tried Modalert. My only comparison as a cognitive enhancer is methylphenidate.

Modafinil does help with concentration and cognition in general, especially when I'm sleep-deprived. It's a bit better than methylphenidate in that respect, and at the same time is not as stimulating, i.e. I don't experience a subjective surge in energy with modafinil. It does help with motivation in a different way - mental activity becomes easier and that ease of doing/learning things helps me to stay focused on them.

On the other hand, it gives me some bad side effects. Headache doesn't always happen, but often appears when modafinil effects begin to subside. My worst complaint, though, are digestive issues - nausea (always) and diarrhea (often). And a general feeling of physical sickness. Keeping my dose low helps, but effective doses always cause this to some extent. It can be distracting and it makes me hesitant to re-dose or take it repeatedly for several days.

I have to add that I know two other people who have tried modafinil and had no such complaints. One of them is prescribed methylphenidate and likes modafinil much better. Overall, I personally find methylphenidate to be a preferrable cognitive enhancer simply because I don't experience those side effects with it. Unfortunately, I can't get my hands on it as easly as on modafinil, so the latter one often remains my last resort (I'm often having bouts of insomnia and wouldn't be able to get much work done without pharmacological help).

I'd love to find out if the original brand of modafinil really works differently, as some people claim.

Wasn't a fan of modafinil, left me feeling a bit wired which isn't what you want when trying to concentrate.

Been living of ritalin the past few weeks for exams (finished now, fuckin' A) and it is incomparable to modafinil.

Would love to try adderall.

Definately a whole lot better than modalert. When I first tried modalert and got the headache and nausea I was thinking "What the fuck is this? This isn't modafinil". Only trouble is the real stuff costs about £120 for 30 tablets.

I've never had a problem with modalert or noticed the difference with the real deal?!

In fact I've got some 200mg modalert that I have to half because 200mg is too much for me really. Love the stuff for big days in the office, and for sorting my face out after a night with no sleep.

Which real deal stuff have you had tho liam? I was on the modafinil for a few years before modalert came out and the difference is pretty shocking.
