modafinil comedown

Recently I got a script for Modafinil (trade name is the Vigil- German formula of modafinil) from my doc due to bad fatigue and tiredness from Nardil + Lyrica(pregabalin) in combination.

I have already tried this drug several times(in 100 - 200mg doses), but often I have got some side effects. Nearly always towards to end of the day, I have started feeling more fatigued and sleepy as commonly and also I have been often totally exhausted, tired and mostly irritated in the end of day (sometimes even earlier).

During the first few days it seemed like it worked a lot better and I felt more stimulated, concentrated and maybe also more social (during the weekend I did not take any modafinil). Next week after weekend, I felt in the same way like first times on modafinil and I got almost same unpleasant side effects and even wore because those great effects and benefits from drug probably stopped working or went away.
It seems like mostly after a break period I feel more dizzy and confused, muddled as in days when I take modafinil periodically.

Could that be because I did not take modafinil regularly/every day (but with a break for 3-4 days from the beginning of using) and then I started taking it again ? Could there be any relation, Or just placebo effect ?


How are your experiences with the modafinil in regard to side effect ( in "everyday" and then "as needed" taking) ?

Please share your experiences.

what you are experiencing is a sort of "comedown" when the modafinil wears off. this is probably because the drug will produce a stronger effect if you use it only once in a while - every day usage will make it less effective.

you can fix this by reducing your dose, or dividing it so you take some in the morning and some at, say, noon or 1 pm.

Is it possible that modafinil works as enhancer ? For example, if I will be in whatever state of mind then modafinil will enhance that state ? So If I will be in bad feeling/mood then modafinil will enhance it and it will make me feel worse ? I suppose it is probably wrong expecting that it will make me feel better after that.

One more question, Do you know about any interesting article/study where I could learn more about modafinil (something like in terms of what you suggested me above)?
