hey to all bluelighters:),I have spent the last week going back and forth to a state run meth clinic to try and finally get some help for a 10 year opiate addiction.
I am more than a little concerned about the ethics that are used to determine if a person is eligible for mmt.
Long story short-Got addicted first to prescribed pain meds then graduated to heroin which I mostly found was bullshit(freinds would do one pill and say how good it was and I'd do 3-4 and barely get a buzz or relief)it would be one thing to live in a poppy field where it is all produced and have access to uncut clean dope, and so said goodbye to street junk and started finding good pod dealers on the net.
Needless to say I find pods blow that street junk back to the shithole it came out of,you can't trust these stupid fools nowadays.
Pod putty or tea when done right is the shit:) and it lasts and lasts and was very inexpensive up until a year ago or so(wtfh)???????
I've decided to come clean and get on a program because my method just did not work out as planned,I used tramadol in extremely high doses (3000mg per day)to kick the pods but it was still mentally disturbing even with the tram for the first couple days.
Soooooo I explain my situation to the meth clinic because of course their question was"how come no opiates show up in your UA"I say because tramadol is technically not an opiate, they also had never really heard of people doing pods either WTF!!!!!!.
So monday I will know the review boards decision, but by the vibe I got it seemed like"well if your not on heroin or opiate painkillers we can't help you here, and thought Hmmmmmmmmmm maybe I should have done some heroin before I went just to avoid the problems.Does anyone else think this is the dumbest fuckin thing they have ever heard?
Tramadol is an absolute nightmare to withdrawal from and I know because I've been thru them all, opes, benzo's,alcohol, gaba drugs.Tramadol is like kicking an opiate and a strong ssri at the same time,oh man does it suck bad,I keep reading all these posts about people asking should I take tramadol to wean off of other stuff and the answer is HELL NO,but should a drug treatment program help people get of this nasty,YES,I'm going to be one pissed of mf if I get the call mondays saying"well mr.******** we don't really see you as having an addiction problem"I've already got this response from my drug counseling class,oh if your not doing heroin then your not really doing anything,I look around at some of these guys in my class and realize what petty little habits they probally had or have(not to say that they don't need help"but damn here are these little sideways baseball cap wearing shit for brains kids who where chipping bullshit street dope getting open arms by every program and some one like me who's been doing it all for years and years and wants to really quite and take his life back but get rejected by drug counslers and drug programs, well I won't know until monday but I have a bad feeling bout it,I'll post back monday, thanks bluelighters for letting me run my mouth, felt good for a change:)

You should really try and make soom room on your sentences, Its really hard to read the wall of text..

It all depends on the clinic. If you can get take homes than I think MMT is reasonable. Otherwise it's the most depressing, mind harming, horrible experience I've ever been through that was related to opiates. After 18 months I was suicidal from going every day.

theChemist..I totally agree about the best line being the "state run meth clinic," it jump ed out at me. lol!!!

to OP, another method is my method which works but is insane, literally, but only for about 3 days.

I too had a 10yr opiate habit, 6-7 yr heroin IV.

This January i did 4meoPCP (100mgs rectal 12 hr trip + 12 hr comedown), methoxetamine for 2 days, and when I had some ketamine, Id use that too after.

Anyway, have a sitter bc I got violent and tried to jump off the roof PCP style. But these NMDA antagonists work in dissociating u from ur habits.

I felt desperate bc suboxone didnt work, i couldnt afford h anymore, and methedone I kept nodding out on and crashed my car and got my liscense suspended in NY and NJ. So i found another way.

And u will too. Keep trying. Will it be worse than how u are living now?

Apologies for the text,I did get scripted a 30 day supply of 8mg suboxone only to find out it's the only thing I have ever been allergic to.

Hives, fever, throat and face swelled up,very bad indeed so subs are out

I agree on the ketamine and pcp,it works but just like you I ended up in a mental ward for doing crazy stuff after a weeks worth of heavy use,I'll never take that route again even tho it does work,it's the only non opiates that seem to seperate the body from the mind to give any relief.

Same damn boat here different river,I too lost my license and have legal problems know just stemming from the one weeks use.

it depends on whether you have a really strong reason to quit. if you do, I wouldn't go on maintenance--methadone or bupe--because the withdrawal is so much more prolonged. if you just kind of want to quit but still long for your drug of choice, then get on some kind of maintenance.

Three grams of tramadol per day?!? ...Wow!

I'd jump to kratom... you really shouldn't need something as strong as methadone. Bupe is slightly more reasonable, but you're allergic, so that's out. Methadone is a pretty intense treatment-- expect side effects on the body similar to what you were experiencing with pods. Kratom is kind of similar to tramadol in effects, I definitely recommend trying this before jumping on methadone.

Well I would just like my life back,I was just married not to long ago and I can't have the"where am I going to get the money to buy my pills"thing going on anymore.

insurance will pay for the meth clinic so it will enable me to start saving money for life,
opiate use has taken so much away from me and I'm not letting it ruin my marriage.

I have some mental issues for needing opiates in some form or another,I've tried so many depression meds but they have never done me any good only making things worse.

opiates are the only thing that free's me to be socially interactive and not think crazy thoughts, extreme paranoia that ends up in outbursts sometimes in public.

I am like I was when I was a young man when I take my dose,in one way it has given me my life back but yet taking my life from me at the same time,it's a paradox with no light at the end of the tunnel,I think I want maintenance,I would completley come unraveled at the seems without somthing as it's just not the "buzz"I like but the stuff really helps me.

not once have I ever got in trouble doing opiates,it has always been alcohol,or dxm that land me in the looney bin or the hospital or jail.

my last go round landed me in the ward for one week, one fifth of brandy and 4 bottles of robotussin gels in a matter of 1 1/2 half hours, needless to say I was out there, but it's the only legal thing that you can get to help but it will make you crazy as hell

hey pegasus, yep tried kratom and liked it but after a while it's unbearable, that shit tastes so awful,I used to parachute it and somthings the tissue would rip and make me puke up a days worth of kratom,it was naaaaasty, tolerance builds up so fast on that stuff,I'd be spending $200 a week for kratom so it's not worth the trouble for those reasons

yes I can see how it could get that way,it's definatley a depressing affair, they give take homes after 3 months if you've been a good boy
