ML-2C-E: What's that?

Today I learned that 4C-DOB is just the alpha-ethyl-analogue of DOB. Well, you never know everything, don't you?

Now my question: Has anybody a clue what "ML-2C-E" is supposed to be? It's mentioned in the current issue of The Entheogenic Review, maybe we have a subscriber here... The "2C-E"-term is self-explaining, but what means "ML" here?

4C prefix makes sense as it has a 4 carbon sidechain. ML-2C-E makes no sense at all

No, I mean a 2-(4-ethyl-2,5-dimethoxyphenyl)-morpholine

That is, 2CE with the carbon chain twisted into a morpholine by adding an ethyl to the nitrogen and an oxygen to the beta carbon and fixing them together.

I think everybody is using different ways of trying to describe the same chemical (which does raise the question why they didn't also give the IUPAC name of the compound in the Entheogenic Review rather than being somewhat vague). Not that I think the aromatic ring substituted phenmetrazines will be active as psychedelics as such activity just doesn't seem to go with secondary amines (and if they make it an aromatic ring substituted phendimetrazine - tertiary amine a la LSD and a lot of tryptamines - I lay claim to them being called the duck/duckling series if they go on to the analogous benzodifuran analogues! )

It's true what you say about secondary amines, however in tryptamines tertiary (and to a lesser extent secondary) amines work like magic.

So I still believe indolemorpholines could be active psychedelics!
