MJ as a sleep aid......

smoking cannabis works very well for sleep when the user does not have much tolerance to it. after smoking up consistently, the drowsiness begins to evaporate. the only way i've been able to regularly use weed for sleep is by cooking and eating it a few hours before bed. then it's nice dreams for real.

but i'd definitely say that if you're not sleeping, weed is not not not the answer.
 
lleno, I have been a user of weed for 40 years. If I don't smoke during the day I don't sleep at night. I kinda have to hide my weed use so I can't just slip out in the freezing cold to toke up before bedtime. Just recently I discovered eating weed. I make these things called "firecrackers". Super simple and it works. It is now my favorite way to consume marijuana. Now I find this method to produce a very relaxed and sleepy body. I do it about 2 hours before bedtime and I go to sleep so peacefully. Good luck!!
 
well, if you are on methadone, i would guess that you used to take a lot of opiates... and maybe you messed up your sleep cycle. I think its more methodone related than MJ. Not sure tho see a doctor.
 
Ive come dependant on smoking to get to sleep, usually when I get home from work around 6-7ish ill smoke a few cones(bowls) then just before bed smoke another 3-4 and will pass out nicely.:)

It works, but it loses its effectiveness over time. I've always been a shit sleeper. I remember getting some amazing sleeps with a few tokes and a beer or two when I first started smoking. Of course I started doing it every night and now its nowhere near as helpful. This may also be due to me having to keep my dosages lower nowadays due to anxiety cause by weed.

For the record I have been smoking for over a decade.
 
i used to have troubles falling asleep... started smoking pot before bed which really helped, then when i stopped i feel like im still better at falling asleep then i was. i take melatonin now, that helps me get a good night sleep and gives me awsome dreams. its cheap and works pretty good with no side effects, definatly should check it out
