Mixing Supplements After MDMA

I have a question regarding combining different supplements after a night of taking MDMA. After doing a little bit of research on this site I found that there were 3 different sups/vitamins that were recommended for taking on the come down after a night of rolling: 5-HTP, Melatonin, and Vitamin C.

I plan to roll next weekend and I was thinking of taking 200 mg of 5-HTP, 3 mg of Melatonin, and 500 mg of Vit C. Can anyone tell me if combining these will have any adverse effects? Any tips/suggestions greatly appreciated!!

After the roll, you should experience no adverse effects mixing this combo. I also like green tea for antioxidant.

Never take 5htp before rolling though. only after. Vitamin C and green tea are great before/during/after rolling. Melatonin can be good for sleep.

In all honesty - if your not using that often then you dont need to take anything !

Vitamin C is a great anti-oxidant that wont cause any problems and you can pick it so cheaply.

The others are simply overkill!

Rest - eating a balanced diet etc after raving is all your body needs

yeah that sounds fine, just dont take any 5htp prior to the roll or it'll dampen it.

I'm very skeptical of the entire "anti-oxidants are neuroprotective" theory with respect to MDMA. Has anyone ever seen any medical literature to qualify this position? From my research, the medical community isn't even aware of what the mechanism of neurotoxicity is, if there is any at all. While anti-oxidants can't do any harm at the doses people are taking, it seems awfully irresponsible to encourage their use as though they are protective against long-term affects of MDMA usage.

Please forgive me if I am unaware of any data on this subject.

When serontonin re uptake is inhibited, it can get re uptaked by the dopamine synapses. when the mechanism for metabolizing dopamine metabolizes serotonin it releases oxidated free radicals, antioxidants directly combat the damage that could be done to the cells by these. ...or some shit like that, look it up.

to op, melatonin is a better antioxidant than vitamin c

"Besides its function as synchronizer of the biological clock, melatonin also exerts a powerful antioxidant activity. The discovery of melatonin as an antioxidant was made in 1993.[20] In many less complex life forms, this is its only known function.[40] Melatonin is an antioxidant that can easily cross cell membranes and the blood-brain barrier.[6] Melatonin is a direct scavenger of OH, O2−, and NO.[41] Unlike other antioxidants, melatonin does not undergo redox cycling, the ability of a molecule to undergo reduction and oxidation repeatedly. Redox cycling may allow other antioxidants (such as vitamin C) to act as pro-oxidants, counterintuitively promoting free radical formation. Melatonin, on the other hand, once oxidized, cannot be reduced to its former state because it forms several stable end-products upon reacting with free radicals. Therefore, it has been referred to as a terminal (or suicidal) antioxidant."

Also,

"Research in rats indicates that THC prevents hydroperoxide-induced oxidative damage as well as or better than other antioxidants"

Piracetam has been the best supplement I've tried for overall effectiveness in fighting MDMA hangovers. Makes the roll feel incredibly clean, lowers your tolerance a bit, just brings you into the experience more overall. I highly recommend this to every drug user who takes their health seriously.

Aside from that I recommend tryptophan to people over 5-htp, for several reasons (one being it is mildy cardiotoxic). Or just eat lots of bananas, they've got lots of tryptophan. :P

Make sure you wait to take the melatonin til you come down, like 1.5hrs before you wanna sleep. It's a really powerful anti-oxidant as well so time it right and you'll wake up feeling nice :)

Of course green tea is the shit as well. egcg is like a miracle molecule sorta thing i think lol. damn aight im just blabbing peace out guys :D

*oh, make sure you avoid anything with tyrosine in it for 24 hours pre/post roll to decrease the neurotoxicity caused by reuptake of dopamine into serotonin axons

I believe the general consensus at this point is that a lot of the neurotoxicity involved with MDMA comes from a depletion of serotonin, resulting in dopamine being taken up into serotonin axons, where it causes a toxic reaction.

As tyrosine is the precursor for dopamine (and since dopamine replenishes much faster than serotonin anyway) it's advised to save it for when your body is totally free and clear of X.
