Hey guys! First time posting here
I read through the various threads on bluelight regarding smoking cigarettes whilst taking xanax and the consensus was that cig smoking diminishes the effects of xanax (I think I read that it could diminish it by up to 50 percent) with the consensus being that the diminished xanax potency was due to the non-nicotine chemicals present in cigarette tobacco and much less to do with the nicotine itself. That said, are there are any sources or does anyone have any knowledgeable information regarding the interaction between smokeless tobacco (chewing tobacco/snus) and xanax? Would using chewing tobacco or snus while periodically taking xanax result in the same diminished effects from xanax just like it may from simultaneously taking xanax and smoking cigarettes?
Upon reading the multiple threads regarding the potentially detrimental combination of cigarettes and xanax, I immediately made my goal to quit cigarettes and switch to snus/chewing tobacco in the hope that that would eventually be the start completely quitting tobacco. In the meantime, I'm just hoping that even this new development of switching to smokeless tobacco doesn't end up negating the potency of the few xanax I have let. Anyway, thanks again for allowing me to be part of your community I look forward to any responses
