Opioids Mixing oxycodone and hydrocodone

Hello all,

I have luckily came to possess 20 mg's of oxycodone instant release. However, I have a 35 mg tolerance to hydrocodone so this, as it only equates to 30 mg's of hydro, is not enough. I was planning on taking 5 mg's hydrocodone with the 20 mg's of oxycodone to get me up to speed. I'm concerned that the mere 5 mg's of hydrocodone won't be enough to synergize with the oxycodone. My theory is that I need to take at least 10 mg's hydrocodone on top of the 20 mg's oxycodone in order for any synergism to happen.

Does anyone have any experience with mixing low doses of a weaker opiate with a large does of a stronger opiate? Will it be effective at only 5 mg?

I once mixed lortabs and oxy, with a significantly higher tolerance (an old-style oxy 80 with 30 mgs hydro), and although the oxy dominated, could feel the bright mischief of hydro beneath it for the first few hours. I doubt if 5mgs hydro more or less would make that much difference, but given your tolerance, there's probably no harm in trying. Caveat: probably.

As to mixing in general, I've had fun with a kind of 'pharma-opium' - oral morphine and dihydrocodeine, and nearly OD'd from oral morphine linctus + benzos while wearing acouple of low-dose fent patches. I suspect the effect of combinations vary widely, depending on the exact compounds and their receptor affinities. Poppy pod tea and kratom (opiod of sorts) was frustrating: the kratom pretty much blocked the PPT for a good few hours, before it started to wear off. Of course, opium/PPT give a cocktail of morphine and codeine, but I think the amounts of codeine involved are pretty minimal, and in PPT you get a whol bunch of other alkaloids - including thebaine, source of hydro and oxy, but damned nasty if you stumble across high-thebaine pods.
