Mixing methadone with hydrocodone?

i have a pretty high tolerance to opiates(usually take 60-70mg hydrocodone at once) so tomorrow im going on a plane ride to vegas and i really want to be chilling the whole plane ride from chicago to vegas my question is, is it ok to mix 20mg methadone with 40mg hydrocodone and 2mg clonazepam? or would it be pointless to add the hydrocodone since its weaker than methadone?

Hydrocodone has a weaker affinity to opiate receptors than methadone, so you won't feel much if anything from the hydrocodone. It would be a waste. They are equally potent, but methadone will take precedence and you won't feel the hydrocodone.

The methadone will most likely block most or all of the effects of the hydrocodone. There is some debate as to what dosage of methadone you have to take for it to completely block the effects of other opiates, but 20mg methadone may not block all the hydrocodone's effects, but I would still save the hydrocodone for another day.

All, be aware that mixing benzos such as clonazepam with methadone is slightly more dangerous than mixing benzos with other opiates. Please be careful with that combination, unless you've got a tolerance to both substances.

do you normally take methadone? Or hydrocodone. If you are on MMT and want to add some hydro on top it would definitely be a waste. But for someone who does not take methadone normally, 20mg of methadone would NOT block 40mg of hydro, and may even synergize with it.

I got off MMT 25 days ago, but when I was on it (~70mg) per day I could still get high on heroin/dilaudid if I did more than average. Blocking doses are much higher than 20mg.

And yes, mixing benzos with opiates, especially methadone can be dangerous if you do not have a tolerance. My clinic doctor would freak out if you came up positive for benzos, and weren't allowed to stay there even if you were prescribed them.. Even though I had scripts the whole time I was there, and knew when I was getting tested, so (as far as I know) never came up positive.

I don't recommend you take the clonazepam with the methadone, that can be very dangerous. But I'd be a hypocrite to say something like that as I was prescribed Xanax with Methadone years ago. If you have a tolerance to the methadone and clonazepam then it may not be as dangerous. Remember, Methadone is a strong opioid, much stronger than hydrocodone, so be careful.

^ I am currently prescribed alprazolam 1 mg 3x/day and I take 130 mg/day of methadone. But I use my alprazolam as prescribed.

But mixing methadone, hydrocodone, plus 2 mg clonazepam is not a good idea. Like I said, leave the clonazepam out of the picture.

I haven't seen any other chart that shows that large a discrepancy from hydrocodne to methadone. Personal experience for me is methadone is slightly stronger, but not enough for me to say how much. Small difference for me.

Well that is wrong. The only chart we refer people to on this forum is the Bluelight Opioid Conversion Chart, which is in my signature.

Methadone is much more potent than hydrocodone and oxycodone. Methadone's oral potency is somewhere near hydromorphone's.

My friend who regularly would do hundreds of mg of oxycodone per day, and shoot heroin, nearly died when he took 70mg of methadone. I told the fool to only take half the bottle (liquid take home) but he drank the whole thing and was on the brink of over-dosing..

Methadone is no fucking joke. My mom, a non-opiate user, had a horrible tooth ache one time and I gave her ~5mg of methadone, probably less, and she got sick (vomited and whatnot). I felt so bad.

Yes....Methadone is very potent! I usualy take 30mg of hydrocodone a day & sometimes mix in a Soma or two for my back pain. I have curvature of the spine really bad & wanted to try Methadone for my back pain. I took half a tab, which was 5mg & was high all day. It certainly took my pain away better than hydrocodone but raised my tolerance to opiates after just trying it once, I couldnt believe it.

My cousin took 10mgs of Methadone same day I tried it & he said it was a bit too much but he could handle it. He said there is no way he could have went higher. I should also note that he takes opiates about once a month so maybe it would affect him more.

I have been taking hydrocodone for about a year & I dont think I could have handled 10mgs, but then again, I had a very low tolerance to opiates when I first started out.

The OP is probably long gone and flying high, but something that should also be noted, is that if you take drugs that you don't have experience with, right before stepping on an airplane, and something goes wrong, remember that you're 30,000 feet in the air and if you stop breathing, you're gonna be in a fucking bad spot.. While airplanes have defibrulators and basic medical supplies, they aren't gonna be able to give you a shot of Narcan or anything until long after you land. There's no magical ER's in the sky haha, unfortunately.

I had a bottle of 80mg liquid Methadone and told my friend to take 1/4 of it but he decided he wanted to take 1/2 the bottle like the idiot he was. He was only used to taking 15mg of Hydrocodone here and there but anyway we were at work and he got so sick, vomiting every 30 minutes in the bathroom, his face was pale, shivering, basically he looked like he was OD'ing but he somehow continued to keep working without falling over. During breaks he would lay down on the floor and hold his stomach. I thought he was going to die and that would be horrible because I would be the one responsible for giving him my prescription drugs. Probably charged with homicide. I was so relieved he didn't die.

He has never taken Methadone since and sticks to stick with his 15-20mg hydro/oxy doses. I shouldn't have even offered him 20mg of Methadone, as that is much more potent. So yeah, Methadone is a very potent opioid, in the same potency category as heroin & oxymorphone

Similar thing happened to me back when I was younger - I was 21 years old. My dealer had no dope, no morphine, and no Vicodins - thats what he usually had those 3. He had none, but he had a bottle of 60 mg methadone. Desperate I bought it. Took it home and took half of it like he told me (I had a tolerance to about 60-70 mg hydrocodone at the time). He told me to not drink the whole bottle or i'll get really sick. So after drinking half - I waited an hour and a half and NOTHING no effects. So I said fuck it - I drank the rest. 1 Hour later it started to hit me. First it was okay then it became really intense. I felt sick and threw up. I had to crawl into bed and I was like that for the next 2 days.

Methadone is nothing to be fucked around with.
