Mixing Etizolam with other benzos?

Ok I used to be on 1-2mg ativan a day...then discovered etizolam and switched because it felt better. It's been around 3 months I take 2-3mg etizolam and I've realized for the past 2-3 weeks, even if I miss a dose by 8 hours, I start getting some troubling shakes...something I never got with ativan. Basically I want to taper down etizolam till i'm completely off it and back to ativan. Is it possible to take say 1.5mg etizolam and at the same time 0.5mg ativan? Or maybe if not same time a few hours later the same day? I really need to get off etizolam and switch to another benzo and need a gradual way to do it.

you could make the switch right off the bat if you want.. just take ativan instead of etizolam i can *almost* guarantee there will be no problems if you take 2-3mg ativan instead of etizolams 2-3mg. even tho benzo charts might say different.. personal experience tells me you will be fine for a switch between the two.
Then taper to whatever dose you wanna be at after the switch.
 
^ Yep I agree. Etizolam is strictly speaking a thienodiazepine not a benzodiazepine, but to all intents and purposes they are the same and should be completely cross-tolerant. Etizolam and lorazepam (Ativan) should be equipotent so you should be able to switch straight over to lorazepam.

I say "should" because there is not as much info out there on etizolam as there is on the traditional benzodiazepines and although fairly sure, I am not 100% sure.
 
Technically yes, you could switch straight to lorazepam but you have to take into consideration the intensity of the side effects at equipotent anxiolytic doses (1 mg etizolam = 1 mg lorazepam). I think etizolam is a bit more intense as far as sedation goes, but lorazepam is probably the better anticonvulsant. I think all around, however, etizolam produces stronger side effects.

IME I would agree with this^^.
lorazepam doesn't hold a candle to etiz as far as sedation goes.

But I also know that my body reacts differently than others.
I feel no sedation from clonazepam..just the opposite.

That being said..I wouldn't expect any w/d though, when switching from one to the other..and don't
see why it would need to be tapered.
 
Its definitely cross tolerant with Diaz as I got a few in just to see what they were like and I may as well have been eating mint humbugs due to my Benzo tolerance so I can't see why it would work the other way.

A few people are reporting issues with regular Etiz use, I'd stick to a known Benzo if you intend to dose regular
