Opioids mixing darvocet and oxycodone?

I took 250mgs of darvocet this morning and was wondering if it would be safe to take 40mg oxycodone now (6 hrs later). I've heard these two have can have bad interactions but its been a while and I don't even feel the darvocet anymore. I also have a bit of a tolerance to opiates.
 
An ASAP answer would be super appreciated, i have to head into work soon and need to make a decision quickly. i googled it but couldnt really find any info on it.
 
If you googled it, and found no mention of the two being contraindicated, then I highly doubt they are, as they are both WELL STUDIED drugs that have been on the market for quite some time.

But if you have to choose really quickly I would say WAIT to take them until you HAVE to take them, that way they will be most rewarding, and least chance of bad interactions.

And if you are not already at the point of NEEDING them, then quit now while you are ahead.
 
I'm surprised you felt the darvocet at all. It's such a shitty drug. The worst part is the amount of apap that is typically included, so be careful with that.

Other than that, I don't know of any contraindication between the two drugs.
 
That would be fine.

Darvocet has (finally) been pulled from the market in the US.
 
Im not sure that darvocet is safe to take at all due to its recent recall and removal from the market.

He's already taken it, but yeah its definitely not desirable stuff to take. Its now connected with cardiac problems and hepatoxicity.
 
When I was 20, well before my years of opioid tolerance, I was prescribed Darvocet for a dental visit. Those big pink pills did nothing for my pain, and I felt zero euphoria after eating about six of them. Garbage.
 
I'm going to go ahead and close this since its been adequately answered.
