Mixing Benzo's with Nitrous Oxide ?

My friend has been in a weird state of days lately (if that makes sense).

He's JUST quite his Crack "addiction" TODAY. Cold Turkey pretty much, with the help of 1.5mg of Xanax. (More on his Crack quitting story in another thread TBA)

He's doing ok so far. All he want's to know is, if he takes some Nitrous Oxide would that "mess him up" (in a bad way)? Like, adverse scary reactions... ie. seizures, hallucinations, vomiting... etc...

He has no clue so that's why he asking it up here before he tries it.

Nitrous oxide's anxiolytic effects come from activity of the Gabageric system which will already be effected by the benzos. It's euphoric effects are caused by dopamine release (which is similar to cocaine's method of action).

I doubt there would be any reason for a seizure, vomiting is a possibility though and hallucinations are pretty much the reason why people take nitrous (though a dissociative state might be a better term). Whether you feel good or bad on it has more to do with your state of mind. If your friend just quit crack today I'd recommend they lay off all the drugs for a while.

I'd also recommend that your friend find this out him/herself. They are the one who is going to be taking a risk doing these drugs so they should be the one who does the research and knows what the risks and possible complications are.
