The other day a buddy of mine game me 60 0.5mg Xanax on Wednesday. I took 4 Wednesday night, 2 Thursday morning, 2 Thursday evening, and 3 or 4 on friday to make the weekend get here faster. So I'll say I should have had 48 this morning. I have 9 now. Is it possible I ate them all? Considering 3.25mg the first time I took them erased the whole day, could almost 20mg of Xanax kill me?

I'm sorry if I seem totally stupid to you guys, I'm extremely new to pills.

It's very possible and that's probably what happened. I used to do that quite frequently when I would abuse Xanax. 20mg won't kill you unless combined with other CNS depressants. Maybe you just hid them from yourself, there is really no telling.

it really depends on tolerance but no i don't think 20mg is a lethal dose, if spread out over a little bit of time and no other drugs were being used at the time. ESP alcohol.

Exact same thing happened with me a couple of years ago with Xanax. I had 60 of them, 3 of us took a few after getting back from a warehouse party on Sunday afternoon. On Monday morning, when we came to, they were all gone. We only remembered taking 3 - 4 each. It's a common thing with Xanax! :D

I did keep finding them weeks after though, all over the place, about 7 or 8, so we hadn't eaten them all

this thread is epicly funny because of the level of truth. when i was about 18 this happened to me. also i gave some to a friend and he calls me the next morning:

"dude it was 7:30 and i took 2 of these (bars) and i was getting ready to go to the club and i woke up at 5:30AM half dressed with 12 missed phone calls."

someone should nominated this for BoBL

Thanks for the quick replies, guys. I was kinda hoping you'd tell me 20mg would kill me, so I'd know I at least hid them or something...

I'ma keep looking, but my chances are definitely slim...

20 mgs will not kill a person.... IME or IMO... but it is quite dangerous for someone without a serious tolerance....

Are there gaps of time that are totally gone from your mind?

Oh yeah, definitely. I took them specifically for the large gaps of memory loss so classes didn't drag on forever like usual.

I should have next to no tolerance, the three days I mentioned and the Monday of the week before are the only times I've ever taken Xanax.

This has happened to me so many times - some of those incidents turning out to be INCREDIBLY fucked up. Not only is it so easy to black out and not realize what you're doing as a Xanax n00b, there is something about Xanax (and some other benzos) that makes it so that when you're on them and have more in your possession, you just want to keep eating them. This is especially true and dangerous when you're blacked out because you have no inhibitions and no way to stop yourself from consuming a RIDICULOUS amount of the drug.

Best thing to do is to take what you need and hide the rest somewhere (hide them BEFORE you're under the influence of the Xanax) so that you don't have them on you and can't just keep taking them.

The therpeutic index for benzos is pretty damn high... That's determined by dividing the Lethal dose in 50% of the pop. / the effective dose in 50% of the pop. In valium its right around 100... So the lethal dose is 100x the effective dose and I'm pretty sure most of the benzos are similar, I just don't have the numbers.

This topic comes up a lot and often when people are told about benzo safety, outside of the dangers of combining them with opiates, alcohol, etc, usually the most common warning is that you might keep taking more once you black out.

Physiologically this is rarely dangerous but its pretty easy to fuck things up socially, legally, professionally, etc through profound disinhibition and potentially aggression.

I think this thread is really funny -- it's so true!! IME, I hate the memory loss. I always felt stupid after having to hear my stupid-ass decisions and actions the entire day told to me by different people.

Speculation - if you were the only person who had access to the pills, you obviously took them. If not, anyone could have taken them.

This is a common phenomenon (taking a large amount of benzos without consciously remembering doing so).

it really depends on tolerance but no i don't think 20mg is a lethal dose, if spread out over a little bit of time and no other drugs were being used at the time. ESP alcohol.

The acute LD50 of alprazolam in rats is 331 to 2171 mg/kg. Other animal experiments have shown that direct intravenous introduction of doses over 195 mg/kg (approximately 975 times the maximum human dosage of 10mg per day) may cause cardiopulmonary collapse.

more danger lies within the actions of the user while they're under the influence - drinking alcohol and taking other depressants, driving, falling over, etc.

if you're a newbie to benzos and intend on doing this again (even if you don't, it happens, trust us) then try and keep all your other depressants, namely opiates, muscle relaxants and alcohol locked up and out of your hands as the risk for OD with benzos and other CNS depressants only heightens.

^ Yes sir. That's precisely what I was referring to when I said it could be dangerous. Your actions could be of much greater consequence in this situation than the effects of the drug on your mind/body.

WTF happned to all my xanax?!? Anyone who's gone on benzo binge has ask that question at least once. Fear of a repeat on a grand scale prevents me from ordering a gram or two of phenazapam. Check your car, you don't want a cop finding one during a traffic stop a year from now.

definitely, man. i've made some very unwise choices while on benzos and am extremely lucky to still be here, times about probably 5 times at least:| xanax has probably been the worst in respect to me doing stupid, reckless shit and not remembering anything, things of all sorts.

you're pretty much harmless if you're passed out, not choking on spew. not so much when you're either having a pardoxical effect or just plan acting like a fuckwit.

Found a single bar in the microwave one morning....Apparently my roommate had found a genius hiding spot......Like right there in the center of the revolving plate thingy, just chillin.......................................
