Bupe missed shot

You may have some localized swelling and redness at the site for a few days along with some pain from said swelling. A warm compress initially then cold after the first few hours along with some NSAIDS should take care of everything. However, if your technique was not especially asepetic, then you do risk a SC abscess. Most times these instances resolve themselves without intervention.

yeah i've missed without using a micron filter and it just hurt more didn't have any trouble w/o medical attention but i just wondered if this shot should have even hurt

Most IM and SC shots are going to hurt a little. Usually a little burning or stinging sensation that subsides fairly quickly. That's with drugs that are designed for those ROAs though; so using a substance that is not designed to disperse SC or IM is going to cause some discomfort as the body attempts to absorb/attack it.

buprenorphine pills are notorious in the IV culture for really doing a number on peoples veins and limbs. if you're missing shots on regular occurrence then you'd probably want to work on your technique, if not give them up via IV route.

check out the case studies thread, the link is in the OD Directory.

The micron filter doesn't prevent pain from a missed shot, but it's much better than missing a non-micron'd shot.
Keep an eye on it, do the warm compresses, and if it doesn't get better seek medical attention.
