Earlier, I IV'd heroin into my right forearm and at least partially missed my shot. As usual, I got a small bump and some redness around the area that went away after about an hour so. Still, the injection site of my arm appears slightly swollen and is tender to touch. There is no redness or discoloration, nor is there any mark other than a small red track mark which I'm sure IV drug users are familiar with. At first I panicked and thought I hit an artery, but the blood in the syringe looked like the right color, there was no real bleeding and there was no real pain other than the slight prick of the needle piercing flesh.
My question is, is it possible that by missing I caused some damage to my vein? Or could it just be a bad reaction to one of the cuts? I'd take a picture but there's no much to see...just a small, slightly swollen "raised" patch of skin that's uncomfortable to touch.
