Missed my Shot of dope...what to do

Soo...I'm not sure where to post this, but I searched for this topic and I got a billion threads back, but not one that I could find was really specific for this.

Let me cut to the chase, :( I missed my shot of dope in the crook of my left arm, inside elbow, out of the three major veins there I used the one furthest right. I missed about the second half of the shot, maybe 35 units, and now its a huge welt. I don't normally miss, although I have been doing dope on and off for about seven years, all seven years were I.V.

F.Y.I I didn't see it bubble up, didn't feel any burn, no indication I was missing until the very end of it, then I readjusted. I have missed in the past, and I could usually press it down and massage it in, but this time its a large amount and after about 20 minutes of massaging and trying to disperse it under the skin to avoid an abscess, it doesnt seem like its getting better.

Note: Baltimore Dope, pretty clean scramble, two jumbo pills, 80units total shot, missed about 35 units.

Any suggestions on what to do, other than massage, pressure? :?
 
Apply heat to it, as hot as you can stand, several times a day. Wrap it in an ace bandage, to keep pressure on it, but not too tight, and take some ibuprofen for any inflammation. If you have some antibiotics, it might be good to take them, that is often how abcesses are treated in the er/urgent care.
 
IS your skin red, i mean apart from the rubbing?.. any way an abscess is formed as a way for the body to get rid of unwanted toxins or bacteria.. I think you will be just fine!!!!!!!! calm down if the area is read and ichy after it calms down from your massage, then apply heat through a hot moist towel to centralize the immune system reaction.. pretty much calm down already
 
Yeh the guys above pretty much hit the nail on the head with what to do iv accidentally missed shots of dope before to have never had an abcess or anything to worry bout from it cuz sometimes the dope is get is so dark when I mix it up its hard to if I pulled any blood or not usually I would just rub it an it goes away an it's just sore in that spot the day after but u can do what them guys said might make it go away quicker with less worry of an infection happening
 
I definitely have to agree with Morphling on this one. Basically textbook way to take care of it. You'll be okay I'm sure :) I would just keep heat on it and massage periodically and keep your happy thoughts
 
Can someone please help? I did a shot of heroin in my wrist yesterday and as soon as I registered I felt a burning pain which continued while administering the shot. Now it's been roughly 24 hours and my wrist is swollen top and bottom warm to the touch and is very painful. Could this be that I pierced through the vein completely or what? Any advice will be greatly appreciated thank you.
 
There is also slight redness that is moving up my arm. This is really what concerns me I've had swelling and pain before but never quite like this with redness on the top of my skin. Thanks.

I would get that looked at rite away. is this a place you normally shoot.. had you shot that dope before.. had you used that blood v before.. does ibuprofen or another anti inflammatory take the swelling down much.. does your wrist itch.. did you sterilize your skin.. was it a needle you used before??

Sounds like you possibly hit an artery. If you feel a burning when registering it is never wise to contibue with the shot. That is a long time to remain swollen and painful, I would get that checked out asap.
 
OMG yeah dude hitting an artery is the WORST. Probably one of the worst pains I've had. And vajeeh how is it looking/feeling now?
 
There isn't much we can do for you here if you missed a shot other than just give you the basic practices... warm compress, icepack, etc.

The only thing to do to be sure it's not more serious is to go to a doctor or ER.
