Opioids Missed IV Shot of MS Contin

I got the MS Contin to disolve and suck into a syringe properly. worked fine with the first shot, but then on the 2nd i didn't realize it but the needle slipped out of the vein and when i injected it just swell up. I heard mixed things, apply Ice Pack, or Apply Heat. Which one should i use for best results. Last time i missed was with Dilaudid and I used Ice, it seemed to work. They used ice when they missed at the Plasma center. But I heard heat will help make the drug soak into the veins, muscle, tissue, whatever its supposed to do, better then ice. So right now I have heat on it. Is this good or should i go back to ice ?
 
Hot compresses are best because they stimulate circulation.

Hot compress for a few hours until the swelling goes down. If it doesn't start looking better in 24h, starts oozing or gets inflamed, see a doctor ASAP.
