I missed a shot of two 4mg dilaudid pills, I registered, but must have slipped out since I'm not used to these long ass pins. I have missed before and it has never been this sore. It is not red, hot, or anything of that nature, just sore. My arms are actually all types of fucked up since I got these long syringes by mistake. Anyway, is this soreness anything to be alarmed about?
Thanks.

run hot water on it asap. take some antibiotics for a few days if you got em.

not much else you can do.

If it gets worse over the next few days go see a doctor ASAP. ESPECIALLY if it gets red and hot.

how was the shot filtered ?

I filtered with a "sterifilt" filter. I've been using lots of heat, I did this shot in the bathtub. Thanks.

^I remember that clearly Pontifex01, I was very glad to hear that you were okay. I similarly caught MRSA from shooting up pills and cocaine with a reused hypodermic. You should never underestimate the serious nature of unhygienic IV procedures, including missing shots.

What is the gauge and length of the syringe you are using NannyBunny? Where are you injecting? Different locations can be more painful. it's also possible perhaps that you nipped a nerve or a tendon, or something of the nature, but more than likely it's just a result of missing and your body having to deal with a bunch of pill binders (and a relatively small ammount of hydromorphone) in your subcutaneous tissue. Apply pressure and a warm compress. If it does begin to swell and/or feel warm, or you start experiencing feverish symptoms, it could be the start of an abscess or a blood infection, so watch out for that, and take yourself to see a doctor immediately should any of those symptoms occur.

^Good point.

Basically, when it comes to misses, it's very hard for anyone on an Internet forum to let you know whether or not you're going to be okay, as I'm sure you know. The important thing is to never become too arrogant. Before I caught MRSA and had to spend five weeks in a hospital last year, I had missed plenty of shots, reused needles multiple times, and shot more pills and RC's than I care to admit. I became really complacent about harm reduction, and while I got away with a lot of shit for a good amount of time, it did catch up to me, and I am lucky to be alive today.

Damn pontifex01, that happened to you from an IM injection? I thoought IM was safer than IV. I just put two shots of dilaudid on my moms ass. (And I regularly shoot there when I can't get a vein. I had no clue that was just as bad as IV. I'm using a BD 1cc 30G 1/2"

Thanks for the help.

Pontifex01, did the doctors treat you ok? Did they give you enough pain relief? Or did they treat you like a street walking junkie? Thanks

a missed shot can develop into all sorts of nasty things (absess, infection, (gangrene?)....) if you're not sure go see a doctor... bacteria grow at all sorts of different rates, the "growth curb " can catch you by surprise and then you'll be in a very bad state

What concerns me most about the OP's situation is that it's a missed shot of pills. Most binders and fillers are non-water soluble and your body will have serious trouble getting rid of that shit (that's how I ended up nearly killing myself).

let me remind you if OP was using water as the solvent in his shot then those non water soluble cuts wouldn't have made it into his syringe, and therefor into his muscle. the acception being corn starch if he cooked his pill with heat. op, when injecting opiates heat is rarely necessary, with the acceptation of black tar heroin. injecting a few mg of oxymorphone or hydromorphone requires no heat.

so you are saying when you add water to something that isn't soluble in water, then filter it, it would stay in the water? I think what you are saying is that the non soluble cuts would float around in the water without actually dissolving, potentially getting into the syringe?
