It happens to the best of us - you're sure you're in a vein, you push the plunger down but rather than ride a wave a pleasure, you see your skin swell up and you realize you missed.

From what I've read, the best advice to deal with the swelling is a warm compress, but applying a warm compress for any length of time is a pain in the ass; your warm towel cools down fairly quickly and you find yourself reheating it so often the amount of time you actually spend applying heat to the affected area is minimal.

So try this - go to any local sporting goods store and stock up on a few of those chemical hand warmers - you know, those little plastic pouches that, once activated, are meant to keep your hands warm in winter.

Just activate one of those suckers and leave it on your arm as long as you need to.

you could use any number of crazy devices tho, like tie an electronic sock around your arm, etc... lol.
