Mirtazapine and Psychedelics

I was recently prescribed 15 mg of Remeron (Mirtazapine) for sleep. I was wondering if taking this at night would prevent me from being able to trip from psychedelics (lsd, shrooms, mdma ect)? I would skip the dose when I plan on taking the psychedelics as well

Mirtazapine works - among others - in 5HT2, so I'd bet it could diminish the effects. It also has rather long half life (20-40 hours), so skipping one night might not be enough. I'm not expert though, and have tripped well while on low dose of escitalopram (SSRI).

Mirtazapine is quite different from SSRIs like escitalopram. I was actually on both of those at a couple different points a while back. And both SSRIs & Mirtazapine did seem to blunt the effects of psychedelics. Mirtazapine is a 5-HT2a antagonist, among other things. A fair amount of people have used it to abort trips successfully, but i've happened across a few random reports of Mirtazapine potentiating psychedelics, so tread with caution.
