Mirror Imagery

have you ever taken a look into the mirror
and wondered what it would be like to take a step inside
to shake hands with your refracting image,
and to see what its like to live it's life?
thats how i feel right now..
staring deep into the face of myself..
only i cant control my reactions to this
only mesmerized and dismissed..
i feel disconnected with the world now
all the fucking time
only the alcohol keeps my blood feeling warm
and my mind from jumping out of my skull.
these things mean nothing to me..
they mean nothing at all..
they are my sanity.
i feel the cold from my reflection
the smooth glass against my hands
caressing it with skeletal fingers
curiously trying to claw my way in.
but as i find, only as i always do..
i will never get in.
i will never get to see the beauty
the enchanting exactness of myself.
perhaps i'm just blind.
i think i'll just sleep for now..
tomorrow is just another day..
and maybe then..
i'll see life through a mirrors eyes.
