Mirena IUD and sexual arousal.

Hi everyone,
I had a Mirena inserted on Thursday afternoon and ever since I've been feeling insanely horny.
I've always been a highly sexual person but this is totally different, like a constant state of arousal?
I've also been having very vivid sexual dreams ever since and even woke up mid-orgasm last night which I can count on one hand the amount of times it has happened before.
I'm just wondering if anyone else has experienced this?
I can't decide whether it's a physical thing because of the hormones or a mental thing because I know that I can completely enjoy sex without fear of pregnancy.

Hey I had the mirena IUD for the full 5 years and yes I was horny all the time. The sex was incredible. And because of the steady hormones it will be consistantly incredible. Since I'm off it now, sex is different depending on what part of my cycle I'm in.Still amazing but its different.

Were you on any kind of hormonal birth control before?

I have the Skyla IUD which is the same thing, just lasts 3 years not 5, but I was on the pill for 8 years before that. I feel like I've always been super horny, so I can't say if there has been a change.

Being sexually confident is huge, so to answer your question it could really be anything. The amount of hormones in an IUD is extremely small, so if I had to guess it would be the latter.
