Crobar, ^Link? Couldn't find the report on PR.
I've been mostly lurking in this thread for the past few months, as I haven't been living in Chicago since January and don't have much to add on mint updates (thank god I'll be back soon though).
Anyways, Jtrance, can I ask what your fucking deal is? I'm surprised It would be one thing if you were posting what could be considered "useful information" and people were getting mad at you, but in actuality what you've been posting is pure speculation. Not that speculation is necessarily a bad thing, but you continually do it in a "I am holier than thou" way. Plus, you're not posting to inform the community, you're posting just to say "haha I told you so!".
We all love mints. Why are you campaigning so hard to convince people that they're gone? Would you rather they actually disappear for good just so you can win a fucking argument on the internet? Cool story bro.
I'm surprised that more established (and clearly better informed) members like chitownrollin and RLaBS haven't told you to shut the fuck up. Crobar, Chi Lights and Chitown mints have also posted a lot of USEFUL info in this thread, something you have yet to contribute.
[/Rant]
On another note, my connects in Chicago haven't mentioned anything about a shortage. And even if there was, there are still substantial stockpiles of the purple Y's, green BB's, and a good amount of various colored A's (that are all missing their faces). Plus, I wouldn't be surprised if a lot of flame rainbow colored "molly" got released onto the streets someday that was actually just the scrapings off of tens of thousands of the A mints. You know that someone somewhere has to have a bag filled to the brim with those mint faces just kickin' back waiting to bust them out on a rainy day.
Last thing I want to say is that I doubt any of the arrests that have been talked about on this thread (the individual who was popped twice, the 4 individuals popped recently, etc.) will have any effect on production of the mint legacy. You really think 4 dudes are behind this whole operation?? That's just not how large scale distribution (of anything, even legal products) works. There is a definitive network at work. Everyone wonders why the mints don't leave Chicago, it's because involving more people involves more risk, and why would you need to leave Chicago when business (as far as I can tell) has been extremely successful. My main basis behind saying that the mints will keep coming out is simple: if the recent arrests had shut down mint production, you can bet your fuckin' life that it would have certainly made huge news in Chicago (ChicagoTribune.com -->"CPD Topples Deadly Ecstasy Ring!! Our Streets Are Safe Now!!), and probably nationally as well.
I also think that whoever's making the mints is probably very detached from the dirtywork involved in selling. It's just logic. Whoever is funding this isn't going to risk losing their chemist(s) to the police by sending them out to make street level sales. That's what they hire people that are easily replaceable to do. I LOVE hearing how people claim to have "met the mintman" on forums all over the internet, like he just goes around to random shows and brags about his night job. I would venture to say that the people that are only 1 or 2 steps below him on the distribution ladder (ex: the guys buying 10's of boats at a time) have never even seen him. Logically it just doesn't make business sense to show your face. The less people involved, the better.
