Mini Vacation to Montreal... what to do there

I am stopping by Montreal for a couple of nights at the end of August. I goto school in upstate NY, so I am going to Montreal for a couple of day/nights before heading back to school.

Any suggestions as to what to do there? I am going to be going out by myself at night, since my parents are driving me to school and its kinda their little vacation that I will be there for. So as far as nightlife, I would be looking for a place to go where it won't be that bad going by myself. I'm pretty social so it won't be a big deal going out by myself, as I usually have a good time and mingle with people quickly when I do so. I should also mention that I don't have much money to spend there, so keep that in mind. I will be able to hit my parents up for money during the day, but they arent about to give me that much money to go drink, but I have some cash and the rest I have put away for the semester at school.

Any suggestions for day activities that my parents may enjoy as far as sites, little stores etc are welcome as well.

Thanks

^Is it legal to get in Canada though? Like the kind of thing you'd find in headshops?

I know what iboga is, I just wasn't originally sure why you made a one-word post. That's cool though. Would you say there's any sort of iboga "scene" in Canada?

I'm not intersted in taking ibogaine anytime in the near future, especially not while on vacation with the parents.

I'm more interested in getting stupid wasted and having fun with some girls that I will never see again.

Yup, Montreal has the best Strip Clubs in the world my friend! =D

I was in Niagra Falls once b4 and had fun at the strip clubs there, since they were fully nude, compared to the US. I will be there in a week, and it will hopefully be a crazy time.

if you're looking to pick up a girl and you don't speak french, go to the bars on rue Crescent...they usually speak english first around there. I really liked a place called Brutopia, which is on Crescent.

go check out n Expos game :D

Now that I am here, I got that joke. I completely did not realize that the expos are no longer a team. I was wondering why I havent heard shit about them in a while, but then again I never hear about the toronto bluejays either.

I'm heading to a strip of bars tonight, and theres a strip club right there also. There are two races in town this weekend, so theres a street closed off for car stuff, with hott chics all over.

Its actually alot cleaner here than I imagined it would be, considering im used to NYC dirtyness. Also, I have seen probably 5 police cars in 2 days. So does crime not happen here much? Some people are just chilling smoking weed in the streets and its all perfectly fine.

I saw a couple places were there were some bum looking ppl drinking beers n laying down, smoking ciggs. There is def some H around here, might goto the spots that I took notice to b4. I was on a boat tour b4 an they said montreal has the 2nd biggest shipping port on the inland so there has to be a lot coming in here.

Battery low, peace

There are a myriad of strip clubs and the like along Ste-Catherine's East. And I don't feel comfortable with the way this is going, but there is a decent amount of heroin floatin about.

Go down to Ste- Catherine's street or the area and you'll find much heavier police presence....But I used to live there while i was one of those layin'-down beer-drinkin' bums.

Smokin weed on the streets is cool as long as you don't run into any on foot cops. There are good restaurant on St-Laurent which is perpendicular to Ste-Caths, as well as some interesting boutiques.

If you enjoy shisha, there's a lounge over on St-Denis. All this is within a ten minute walking radius.
Just go exploring around Berri Uqam metro station which opens onto Ste-Caths and all of the ecclectic shops, restos merchants are at your fingertips if you get out at the right exit.

And the street kids and bums are friendly enough, take the time to spare the change and have a talk, i've met amazing people on those streets, and some are most likely still there. Besides, you most likely won't get hit by a squeegee at all after that :P

I ended up going to crescent st, and on my way back a saw the squeegee guy. He asked me for spare change, I asked him for H. So we walked around for a while looking. He said he could get morphine if "smack" wasn't around since it was late out. I had so many black dudes rolling up on their bicycles trying to sell me crack, but I told them I only wanted H.

Me and the "squeegee guy" ended up going to the shitty apartment of some sickly looking dude whos legs didnt seem to work, but he was out of morphine. We then went under a bridge where the homeless were. A couple of them were nodding out, but wouldnt give the connect because it was such a good batch they wanted to keep in within their network.

I hooked the squeegee guy up with a cheesburger and chicken nuggets at the end of the night for his troubles.

Good man.
