minecraft

It costs to buy the game. You don't have to keep paying though.

What fuckabout? I'm not sure I'd want to play it on a phone. It's good fun, although not really something you would play casually. It needs many hours of play to get to the most out of it.

Just woke up (not for the first time today, I've not been lazing about in bed all this time) and dinner in oven. Do you want more info?

Minecraft is really fun with one or two friends to play it with. Otherwise it fills you with a profound sense of loneliness.

It's an alright game though. I prefer to watch others play it than play it myself. The Yogscast make some funny minecraft youtube content.

The object of the game is the same as with LEGO. Only you have to source the blocks yourself.

yes it is lego with the world as building material :)

I think it was about £15 for the desktop version, there's a mobile version with limited features that's cheaper and IMO a bit of a waste of money. But maybe if I hadn't already played the desktop version I wouldn't feel that way.

It is the best early morning babysitter in the world. My kids play it together, my son on an iPad and his sister on her iPod. They build fucking insane tree houses in the same world, with indoor swimming pools and disco rooms. The the sun goes down and they have to fight off zombies and creepers. I only hear them fighting if one of them starts stealing resources but I rarely get out of bed unless I hear mention of some body bleeding.

that sounds awesome, and dont worry - i don't mind having fun with the babysitter once in a while

knock, do you know if the mobile version runs on all o.s's, can you link me the site

This thread is making me want to play it again. I never got very far with it before, always ended up wandering too far from base and not finding my way home. But it's good fun building little mud huts to protect yourself from those exploding zombies. I think I got as far as making a pickaxe, a bow and arrows. Are there not meant to be civilisations that pop up? I never met anyone else in the game apart from the exploding bastards.

There are some good mods that make the game a little less aggravating.

The map/coordinates one is vital.

My kid plays and loves it. I don't get it, personally. Pretty much for the same reasons I no longer play with Lego. There are some cool add-ons and loaders for it, which can totally change the game. There is actually a Lego one, and one that turns the place into Toy Story land. I'm the one that installs them, so that's how I know. ;)
