Alright, this is my debut post. Today I'm going to talk about Midazolam HCl (Versed in North America, also known as Dormicum when in tablet form). Now most of us aren't lucky enough to get our hands on this delicous benzo. Those of you who are lucky enough to have access to Dormicum, you have permission to gloat. I consider myself to be more than experienced when it comes to benzos having used EACH of these at LEAST a few dozen times:
-Nitrazepam (Mogadon)
-Diazepam (Valium)
-Alprazolam (Xanax)
-Clonazepam (Klonopin)
-Lorazepam (Ativan)
-Chlordiazepoxide (Librium)
-Oxazepam (Serax)
-Bromazepam (Lexotan)
-Chlorazepate (Tranxene)
-Triazolam (Halcion)- Note about Triazolam...every time I've done something *stupid* while on a Benzo....it's been Triazolam
-Temazepam (Restoril)
I should also note, I have had a bit of a dependency issue with benzos, but I digress. Back to the original topic.
You see, I was lucky enough to work at a hospital for a good period of time, which entitled me to acquire these meds. Now, I didn't steal them, just for the record. I'm not going into detail on explaining how I got them, but it did not involve theft, prescription fraud, bribery or any other questionable deed. Now, you see one day as I was packing my pockets full of ridiculous amounts of 1 mg Ativan SL (A sublingual form of Ativan used in hospitals, basically a tablet the size of a microdot containing 0.5 mg to 2 mg of Ativan), as well as a buffet of other good meds, when I noticed, to my amazement, a vial of Midazolam HCl for IM/IV injection.
So, after I got home, I figured I'd sample some of the vial. Because I have a strict policy of no injection, what I did was draw out an exact dose from the vial using a syringe, and then emptying that dose into a glass of water. Yes I drugged my own drink, and I can say, it did not taste pleasant. It didn't have that usual benzo-sweetness. So, a short time later, it kicked in. My memory gets really hazy at this point. But I can say that the buzz was excellent. Extremely euphoric. No amount of Xanax or Klonopin or any other benzo for that matter comes close, in my opinion. I believe I injested a 12.5 mg dose (and if you calculate the equivalent dose on an equivalence table, you'll notice that Midazolam isn't 'high potency' in terms of mg potency), and this 12.5 mg dose, zapped me better than what I'd say would be a higher Xanax dose. Motor control went to the wind, as did any shred of memory. I was a staggering mess. No memory of anything when I woke up the next morning. It's some pretty hardcore stuff, and is likely the closest thing to a good dose of Nembutal, Seconal, Tuinal, Placidyl, Doriden, Noludar or Quaalude that I'll ever be able to attain.
All in all I recommend Midazolam to anyone who's careful enough to use it wisely. Unlike ANY other benzo, I wouldn't mix this one with alcohol. Well maybe, but then again I have a little bit of a tolerance.
