Midazolam - IV use only?

I have in my possession a 5mg/5ml fliptop vial of liquid Midazolam HCl designed for IV/IM use. (The bottle specifically says for IV or IM use). I am not really interested in using needles in any way for drug use, especially when I know midazolam is at least partially bioavailable orally.

My question is, does this vial contain anything that i SHOULDN'T consume orally, or is it just designed for this purpose. (if it helps, at the top of the label it says preservative-free)

As far as I know you should be able to consume it orally, and as you already seem to know, you might lose some BA, but it's worth trying as I'm fairly sure it's safe. Might want to wait on more answers though, as I'm not very experienced in that particular Drug. Do update and let us know how it goes though, I personally always love to hear peoples experiences.

bioavailability is kinda poor via the oral route, something like 40-50%. you'll still catch a buzz though. they make midazolam tablets under the brand name Dormicum

Yeah needles are a bit off-putting to me. It just seems like a plateau of drug usage that I don't ever want to reach.

depends on your tolerance. but yeah it's pretty sedating and pretty fast acting with a very short half life of approximately 2 hrs, much like alprazolam

5mg/5ml dorm? that benzo is for kids... it has no effect on me whatsoever... buy a 15mg/3ml vial... or a 5mg/1ml vial... expensive but worth it...

I do have a 15mg/3ml vial dormicum and I do not have benzo tolerance. I was thinking of iv or im but afraid because I heard midazolam cause respiratory depression when taken by iv. Can it by life threatening if I take midazolam 15mg/3ml iv or im? If anyone taken 15mg/3ml vial dormicum orally, how it test? test-less or biter?

It's nothing like alprazolam. The only similarity between the two is the fact that they are both benzos. Alprazolam's half life is 6-12 hrs, while midazolam's is 1.8-6 hrs long. Alprazolam is an anxiolytic, whereas midazolam is an hypnotic.

Midazolam is much stronger, despite alprazolam's higher potency.

yeah Ive had a very high benzo tolerance for the last 6 years. Only time I blacked out (with the exception of mixing with alcohol) from benzos is when I popped about 5 7.5mg midazolam. Ended up doing some pretty bad things and waking up in the hospital about 5 hours later not remembering any of it. Just happy I had the support I did from my family and girlfriend back then. Id probably be weary shooting up 15mg of it with little to no benzo tolerance.

Midazolam is incredible with opiates but I wouldn't recommend the combination without a tolerance to both due to the chance of respiratory depression. I used to combine a shot of Midazolam with 2mg of Oxymorphone and be in la-la land for an hour or two with a POWERFUL nod! If your going to take it orally 4.76mg is equivalent to 10mg Diazepam. You'll need like 15mg with a low to moderate tolerance. But I've never done it orally so that dose is just going by an equivalence table. Its significantly more sedating then Diazepam and Diazepam is a pretty sedating benzodiazepine on it's own. Usually when administered IV the typical dose in hospital situations is anywhere from just 1mg and up to 5mg. I used to bang 10mg and I had a tolerance. It produces a nod similar to opiates. I've only had my hands on vials of Versed a few times.

ya if i ever get it again id bang it but I wasnt into that at that point in time. Diazepam does next to nothing for me except make me drowsy.
