Harm Reduction Micron Filter question

Hey guys, I couldn't find a thread for this so I just made a new one....

My question is about micron filters....Ive been using them for a while now and have tried different types...

The cheaper ones, the nylon ones, seem to work better, but what exactly is different or better between a nylon 0.02 micron filter and a PVFE (sp) filter?

PVDF filters are more chemically resistant than nylon filters. You can use them to filter concentrated acid, solvents etc, whereas nylon will degrade.

If all you are doing is filtering cold water solutions, there is no practical difference and you can save money by using nylon filters. Just make sure they have a 0.22 micron pore size or smaller.

Hey thanks for the quick reply =). I've been getting my filters thru amazon.com but I found you can get greater quantities for much cheaper at ebay....oh and I always get the 0.02 ones...i find im able to get the most out of it if i take out the plunger and push air through it a couple times too
