MI, Grand Junction - 7.16-18-2010 Weeking Camping - Dude Where's My Tent? 2

Sound was lacking so the abundance of dubstep was unnecessary. IMO Not to many clean mixes coming off any stages either. to many computers and sync buttons around to hear that many trains. You could talk to 12th planet and reid while they were playing from right next to the stack and they would answer. Reid did not look like she wanted cdj's she was talking shit at the equipment, or something, and the spot light for sure. Good vibes all around though. But i did catch raver fish until 6:00 sunday morning. it was daylight and still catching fish haha if any body was walking the trail to the back woods area u know who you were.

for as hyped as this party was, you would think the eq situation would be bulletproof.

Also, no offense to anyone who played, but nowadays since people don't come out as much as before, you have to headline people who have a draw. Just because an artist has a draw doesn't mean they are talented. Sucks to hear everyone was laptop wrecking, that would kill my mood with the quickness.

Kind of cements my opinion that I didn't miss much.

well, yeah. I know the phrase "use technology to the fullest". What is the deal with the laptop DJ anyway? There is always a physical connection between a DJ & the music when using decks, or even CDJs. I am dissappointed when I see a DJ crack open the apple.....regardless of output, Im left with a cold & isolated link to the music & DJ.

I know Dubstep is the thang, but whatever happened to "House ain't given up, house ain't gonna stop". Did it?

All in all a pretty good show. Great turn out and vibe! I did notice that dubstep was all over the place. It's just hard for me to get into. I want my electronic music fast enough to dance too ;) I think that I was the only DJ spinning wax as well. I miss seeing others DJ's dig through their crates to find that perfect track to drop. Laptops just seem way to planned and robot like.

I've always been a big DnB nut, but what Monk was playing was off the hook. Everytime I see him, I am in awe. Killer track selection and I didn't once hear anything that was remotely off on his mixes.

The people there seemed to be friendly and happy. I didn't see any trouble or bad vibes. It took me back to the "old school" when people would actually just come up to you and strike up a conversation.

Wish I could have seen you and Curtis at the show. You guys would have had a blast :) I'm not sure if I would have wanted to spend my anniversary at a rave either though lol. I'm sure I will see you guys around soon. I believe ITG is doing another halloween boat party this year. Miss both you guys!
