Misc Methylphenidate (Concerta) study aid dosage?

I've got my hands on some 36mg Concerta pills. I was wondering if one of those would be too much to study on. I know they're slow release, but I have an extremely low tolerance to stims (I don't normally do them and I'm a skinny lad), when taking the IR stuff 10mg is a spot on dosage for revision. Will 36mg be too much?

Could be. Why not quarter the pills if 10 mg is spot on for you, as you can always take more afterwards if you feel the need. You can't easily un-do what you've taken if you become over-stimulated....

Yes, it will be.
For studying your dosage shouldn't be that high. You don't want jaw clenching and euphoria for studying, just a nice stimulating dose.
10mg IR would be way better. Try taking half of the 36mg pill.

I would take 10mg IR if I had any Will try taking a quarter or a half at first.
How much gets released into your system initially? In fact how do slow release pills work?

Extended release drugs are designed to dissolve gradually in your stomach/GI tract, releasing a steady quantity of the drug over the course of generally 8-12 hrs. You could just crush it, then divide it into three equal [12mg] piles, then just parachute it. You probably want it to kick in sooner rather than later anyway, and also not last for 6 or 8 hrs.

I halved one, then halved it again. The second halving went badly and ended up being more like 3/5ths. I took the bigger quarter about 2 hours ago now, slightly too much. Mood lift is nice and makes revision less tedious, but slightly restless. I took too much because although once I get on topic I keep going, if something distracts me I'm really focused on the distraction.

Edit: Also feel kinda nauseous, probably because I had a really large breakfast. And of course the standard dry mouth.

You can't cut up Concerta and expect consistent dosage because of the weird way it is time-release. 36 mg Concerta sounds just fine, take the whole pill, I doubt it would be too much.

I definately peaked at like 2-3 and then it had wore of by like 5 hours. It would seem i got most of the instant stuff. The bit I had was mostly white powder, although there was a little bit of yellow as well.

18 will help a bit (if its generic and you can split it) however I wouldnt worry at all about taking 36. I have ADD however, but I never feel high from this amount.
Even 2 36's will not make me feel very high, just abit sped up. Anything over 100mg will make me speedy as fuck.
One is fine, and if they are generic cut them in half.
