Hey Bluelight,
I have never had any expierience with cocaine. Let me just say that now.
But I have heard from numerous sources and friends that snorting Methylphenidate is relatively close to the feeling of cocaine. That snorting methylphenidate is the closest way to replicate the feeling of a cocaine high. Can anyone shed some light on this for me? Has anyone tried both cocaine as well as snorting methylphenidate?
Thanx

I have not tried methyl.... but I have done alot of coke. And form what I have heard about methyl... I would reccommend staying away from it and if your looking for that stimulant like high, go for some cocaine. Even though coke has cut in it, it comes from a naturally occuring plant. Im not tryin to say that things that are more natural than others are better, its just that I believe that cocaine will have less of a negative impact on your brain/body/etc.. than methylphenidate would.

Also, if I remember correctly, there has been practiclly zero research done on methylphenidate so we really dont know what possible side effects it could have. Im not saying cocaine isnt dangerous but it definitely has been researched ALOT.

I think people tend to say that the high from methylphenidate is awesome but it turns you into a "fiend" much quicker than coke would.

Im not sure if that really helped you but good luck anyway.

*Edit: Sorry, scratch my post....I was thinking of something TOTAAALY different when I said methylphenidate. My bad. Dont take my above advice.*

Yes the chemical structure of Methylphenidate and cocaine are almost the same (or close), i am prescribed Ritalin and have done coke in the past and can confirm that it does feel like it, you just wont get any qualities with coke like the numbing part, or the instant rush.

give it a try you might like it.

I find methylphenidate to be superior to cocaine, except when it comes to trying to fall asleep afterwards as the methylphenidate stays bound to receptors for longer than cocaine after the effects have worn off. But yes, in general, the effects are very similar. I have actually read studies where IV cocaine users were given IV methylphenidate and could not tell the difference. I could certainly tell a difference when snorted/ plugged, but they are certainly a similar feel in the opinion of many.

Definitely some cross-tolerance and effect similarities.. Much depends, of course, on the potency of your flake.

You have to remember that cocaine is made for one reason, getting high. Ritalin is a drug that was picked to best offset ADHD while minimizing the physical symptoms of the drug. That's like asking if Advil is better for pain or heroine. Ritalin is known to cause heart palpitations when taken in doses above those prescribed. Not to mention these are addictive drugs. I only say this because you only get one heart, and every time you take these drugs you lower your hearts life expectancy.

Cocaine can also cause heart palpitations when taken in high doses and its also an addictive drug :\

I've done both many times. The only really similarity in the high is that they are both stimulating. I find cocaine to be a much more euphoric and enjoyable high.

The key to unlocking more euphoria with Ritalin is much like Cocaine. Ethanol.

Alcohol with both of these is extremely euphoric. And the alcohol calms the jitters.

I know I didn't specify, but I was referring to both drugs. Cocaine at normal doses can cause abnormal heartbeat, increased blood pressure. Both of these chemicals are (ritalin if used to get hight) are both dangerous. Between 1990 and 2000 there were 186 deaths from methylphenidate reported to the FDA.

Added Danger: Cocaethylene
Polydrug use—use of more than one drug—is common among substance abusers. When people consume two or more psychoactive drugs together, such as cocaine and alcohol, they compound the danger each drug poses and unknowingly perform a complex chemical experiment within their bodies. Researchers have found that the human liver combines cocaine and alcohol to produce a third substance, cocaethylene, which intensifies cocaine’s euphoric effects. Cocaethylene is associated with a greater risk of sudden death than cocaine alone.1

I found this on a Government website, and just found it interesting.

I doubt people with very little coke experience would be able to tell the difference between the two. I wouldn't be surprised if a lot of people had unknowingly railed some kids ritalin at some point in their earliest coke using days. I didn't know shyt when I first tried it, though it doesn't take long to get educated when dropping the $ I wonder if bar flies are as easily attracted with methylphenidate as they would be with coke. my guess, probably.
