Methylone (bk-MDMA) with Alcohol

Hi,

I have obtained 1g of Methylone - also known as bk-MDMA.

I am going to attend a rave and due to it being a big birthday of mine, I'm probably going to be drinking a lot. I wouldn't take large doses of Methylone, as I'm a lightweight with most drugs.

Apart from discouraging the usage of alcohol on general terms - that mixing might not be a good idea - does anyone have any ideas if it is particularly bad in combination with Methylone. Due to it being a drug which affects Serotonin, Dopamine, Noradrenalin etc. I am guessing that it might not be too great, because of the sedative and CNS depressant effects of alcohol.

Does anyone have any experience or objective suggestions regarding the combination - preferably more than just general discouragement because mixing may be bad.

I've heard about it counteracting the effects of alcohol etc., but not anything else - I've looked on Erowid and trawled the internet for other information, but due to its very nature of a research drug, there is not much I can find - apart from seizures mixed with large doses of Methylone and often mixed with more drug.

N.B - I'm not thinking of taking any more than 200mg of Methylone over a whole night :)

Ive done that more than a few times with benzos and opiates in my system. The only thing it will do honestly is kill your methylone buzz. Ive found if you want that shit to fuck off have a few drinks and it goes away quick.
 
Slightly OT but Methylone is NOT a party drug. You won't be able to dance at all. I hope you weren't planning any movement really, it's more of a friend's dining room drug.
 
@BananasAndOranges - I've heard that elsewhere aswell - I would just do Methylone, but it's my 21st Birthday and I ought to go pre-drinking with friends - especially those who aren't drug-users.

@Spliff Politics - Hah, yeah I was going too leave it at home because I know it can get fiendish - and that's the last thing I want. Do you know anything about what it's like with Alcohol though?

@MikeHawk - Thanks for the advice, but I feel the complete opposite. I'd hate to do it at home with friends - I loved it when I done it at a 'free party' and was quite trancy etc., it feels like a party drug! But different things for different people. And you can definitely dance and rave on Methylone - well I could!

In fact, Explosion! was somewhat aimed at the party scene (containing Methylone) as far as I remember.

It's party properties are slightly similar to MDMA in my opinion

I combine the two regularly. The main problem I find is that methylone is very 'dreamy' and relaxing. As alcohol is also a relaxant, you may find the urge to sit down and then have trouble persuading yourself to get up again.
 
@bresker - Yeah, I found it's dreamy and that can be good for the trancy effect of raving, but yeah, I can imagine that it may happen - although, I find it quite speedy.

On another note, bresker, may I ask what doses you do? Like how many drinks and the Methylone dosage - do you drink lots (of alcohol) like 10 pints or whatever
 
No, I couldn't drink 10 pints! It kills my appetite for alcohol after a few. Which is a good thing as otherwise I can spend a load on booze.

I did drink a bottle of nice Cava when I was coming down last week which was very pleasant. It helped me sleep it off.

Don't do much more than 200mg these days.
 
@bresker - That's the problem is that I have a good (or bad) appetite for alcohol, and drink a bit much at times. I find myself spending at least £60 when I go out - and that's a cheap night :P

I might just have 2 pints and Methylone - do you reckon, in general, it's safeish?

if youve never done the shit before id say itd be more of a waste if anything. take some speed. methylone is a drug you take on its on.
 
Oh yeah, definitely safe. I'd hydrate beforehand with plenty of water and during as well.

2 pints wouldn't make methylone 'a waste' - unless you have a very low tolerance for alcohol.
 
alcohol wont make it a complete waste bresker, but im saying the good effects of the drug wont be felt. the speedy part will be felt. if youre hammered drunk and take some methylone its doubtful youll feel a whole lot of what you would be expecting...

Ah, ok. I've tried it out already - with less drink, and I enjoyed it. What I'm asking is not about losing its effects - because after drinking a fair whack, I didn't lose the effects and still enjoyed it, but I'm asking about the dangers. I guess because it's a "research chemical" people don't know much about it - but you certainly have helped!

I dont think anyone on here could answer the true dangers of the drug/alcohol mix for you. I know from personal experience when I used it for weeks on end, multiple times through out the day, that drinking on it made for a really crap hangover the next morning, usually killed most of the empathetic feelings, and just left me with the speedy feeling. ;)
 
Hmm. I might get some base/speed then, but I don't particularly like it at parties, because it's too up and not very trancy. I'll go look into what amphetamines and alcohol are like, thanks :)
 
I'm surprised some of you consider Methylone a party drug. It's so mellow for me. I guess it's because 200mg sent me into a tachycardic nightmare and it put me off it. I had NO stimulation, but my heart was pumping like a luvabitch and as a result I felt anxious all night, and all next day, in which I experienced psychosis, lovely.

Subjectively, I honestly believe Mephedrone is safer than Methylone. Addictiveness of Mephedrone is undoubtedly higher, but drug for drug, I believe they Methylone is more toxic. It really made me feel like I was going to die however the worst effect I've experienced on Mephedrone is slightly discoloured knees (not purple, just kinda blotches of red).

I really wouldn't recommend mixing them. Maybe have a pint or two of cider but take it slow and take the drug BEFORE drinking not after, so you can judge how fucked you are going to be. Mixing CNS depressants and CNS stimulants puts a great deal of strain on your heart.

bullshit- if you drink alcohol on it it feels a LOT more like mdma (the comedown is harsh) abut its very dancy and exciting. you will get through a lot tough as it wears off quickly,

still its a speedy drug and has a rough comedown
