methylation of tryptamine?

my friend was wondering if dmt can be synthesized from tryptamine, by adding the methyl group. also can you do the same with phenethylamine and the methoxy group to synthesize mescaline? he is pretty new to organic chemistry so any help would be appreciated, thanks.
