Rubber looks like an interesting film. Could be very appropriate if the film is done well. And fear and loathing is such a classic I think most people on this site have watched it on various drugs multiple times over. Well done. I've been meaning to check out the Bill Murray version "Where the Buffalo Roam" but I imagine it can't be nearly as entertaining.
Anyhoo. Tried two films last night. 3-Iron, another Ki-Duk Kim film like Spring Summer etc. Again very little dialogue. Weird little film, but quite enjoyable. Nice charm to it.
Also tried Los Chronocrimenes, a wonderfully done Spanish film somewhat in the vein of Primer. It was tough to follow, being the second movie I watched and also had pushed the dose up a bit higher than is best for comprehension by that point. I also tried to juggle reading subtitles, which makes following a tricky storyline much more difficult (had no such troubles with subtitles in the two Ki-Duk Kim films as dialogue is sparse). You may or may not want to search out the English dubbed "Timecrimes". I haven't tried it dubbed, but in Spanish, wonderful.
Both were fun and appropriate. Off the top of my head for other suggestions -- The 2003 film "Nothing" was a fun little romp where an agoraphobe and his roommate... well hate the world away. Fun and playful and I imagine would go very well with MXE. Theres a scene after the credits I didn't see the first few times I saw the movie, if anyone out there searches it out.
Eh. Good for now. Oh. The 1969 Jim Henson psychological film "The Cube" would probably be quite appropriate as well. Guy is stuck in a cube room with people popping in and out fucking with him. Fun stuff.
This link is a website with a description and an embedded video of the RARE COLOR VERSION of the film! I enjoyed it like crazy in the black and white version, and the movie with dull washed out colors might end up being worse. Choose wisely. I also remember there being a couple garbage quality versions and a rarer decent quality one. You may want to search around.
