Method of taking LSD? Odd?

I've got a friend who got a vial of L, and when a friend of ours took a drop in his eye, he tripped hard.

However, when my wife and I took 3 sweettarts with one drop on each, we didn't trip at all. It appears that this L is only working administered directly to the eye. Has anyone ever had this experience before? I've personally never heard of this happening, I found it kind of odd.
 
Ocular dosing requires a smaller dosage than oral if I remember correctly.

There is no such drug which only works when administered directly to the eye. Maybe it's bunk shit and your friend was having a placebo effect. Or wanted to rip you off.

Btw ocular dosing is not smart unless you have absolutely pure LSD in absolutely pure water. Even then it's not something I would do without a tripsitter. From what I hear the visuals on an ocular trip are so intense you'll have no grasp of the real world at all.
 
Hey Chesh, I find it odd too. Grrr, this is not directed at you Chech, I'm just using your post to vent. :)

I have to say I have been irritated for 35 years of hearing "dude drop it in your eye". I don't believe any other form of administration could be stupider. An acid in the eye. Not to mention it's usually people that want to show off and brag about something. Orally LSD is as effective. There is no reason to drop it in the eye. Some may disagree but I gots my opinion. I guess growing up the people I knew that either tried or knew somebody that tried that were not the most intelligent and really bugged me. One guy claimed he dropped a blotter on his eye. Most annoying.

Anyway, that's my rant. Oh and don't drop it in your eye.

Why should this be? The visuals from acid don't really have much to do with the actual eyes - rather it is surely to do with the imagination.

I can understand that irritation of the eye might have some effect, but cannot understand why the visuals should be any more or less intense than any other method, excepting the fact that a like-for-like dose might be more intense if the bioavailability of the acid is greater than for ingestion.

I'd be interested to know though. This is a question, not a criticism of your post :)
 
You'd think that our blinking reflex would remove or make dosing pretty hard....I don't think LSD itself would also be the best thing to be putting in ones eye, but thats simply becuase its an ergot-semiderivative.

LSD is not an acid, it's a base. Which is usually in the form of a tartrate salt. It's called "acid" because it's an amide of lysergic acid, which means that it's not actually an acid at all.

I'm not sure why, but the trip reports I've read confirm this to be the case. It is theorized that the LSD goes straight to the optical nerve when administered to the eye. Thus causing more visual stimulus. I'm not sure if there's any truth to it.
 
LOL well it still isn't smart, considering a lot of L is made with alcohol (ethanol, vodka, etc). So unless you know for sure it isn't alcohol-based stuff, don't drop in your eye unless you think the risk of possible burning/damage is worth the cheap thrill

Also, i've never heard of ocular admin being any more effective than oral, rectal, or IV admin in any case. I don't doubt it is, but i'd like to see written evidence somewhere... if anything, i'd imagine it would hit much faster than sublingual admin and about the same as rectal and IV, but i can't back that up with experience - have only used the oral route.

As for the tarts, it could be there was only one hit on each one and your friend's drop contained more lucy than whatever one hit on the tarts did... liquid is like that a lot. sometimes you take one drop and it's like 3-4 drops the next time that does the same thing...

totally unpredictable, but i find my usual unperforated blotter very even..altho certain areas of the sheet seem to create more visuals than others & other areas more audio distortion... who really knows, right? it's all in your head, man ;)

assuming you got sid on them tho, average potency these days would dictate you eat at least 2 tarts to trip.. which is like 2 hits of blotter..

legit liquid isn't diluted, IMHO, but i also believe it should be free for everyone just as knowledge is

I don't have an explanation for what happened but I just wouldn't put it in my eye. I agree it's just for those who want to be interesting and difficult about it but the only reason I can think of why it only would be active in your eye is because it's a bit more effective plus some kind of idiosyncratic response - hell if I know...
But maybe the guy is just lying or something because if it's legitimate good acid it's potent enough sublingually. And for that fact I'd just take it that way and not be silly. ;)
 
At some of the parties I used to go to, the "penalty" for passing out too soon was that someone or other would slip a blotter under your eyelid. Never happened to me cos I never passed out but from the way it looked to affect those it did happen to it seemed to come on faster and harder than oral. Then again it could just be the reaction to suddenly waking up tripping with a bit of blotting paper stuck to your eyeball. Couldn't say about the actual subjective effects. I doubt it's worthwhile enough to risk any kind of eye damage for though.
 
^I was with a few friends on acid; we were all about 16~- one girl thought that she would make super cool white eyeball-covers (errr) with paper ie. cut white paper into eyeball shaped pieces so as to appear to have completely white eyes....paper cuts all over the poor balls, lids etc.....Ouch :(
