I have been debating the difference between MCAT (methcathinone) in the HCl form versus the Acetate form. Unfortunately, there is little information upon the acetate form. I am trying to consider which form would be better overall.
the benefits of HCl form:
-very little of actual HCl (in acid form) is needed to convert freebase
-most known form of MCAT (much more info exists on the HCl form)
-solubility in various materials

Now the downside:
-HCl(in acid form) is much harder to purchase/get
-HCl (in acid form) is much more dangerous to come in contact with
-Being in possession of HCl (in any form) is much more suspicion arousing

Benefits of Acetate form:
-Acetic acid is readily available from almost any grocery store and in large quantities
-Acetic acid does not arouse suspicion
-Acetic acid is not terribly toxic/fuming

Downside:
-Not much info can be dug up on acetate form of MCAT (solubility, absorption, etc)
-The only information I have been able to find is not all that conclusive:

So what i guess I'm asking is: Does anyone have any experience with both forms, or the acetate form? If so, which would you prefer?

HCL can be bought at the hardware store. The call it muriatic acid. I don't see why making the acetate would have any real affect on solubility or pharmacolgy.

I'm aware of this, but in comparison- acetic acid is much more readily available. And that may be the case... but I'm wondering why it's so uncommon to have the acetate form- assuming that it has the same properties. It's almost hard to not find it in a common household environment. And since most of the methcathinone being 'put out there' is made by kitchen chemistry- why would they go out of their way to get HCl opposed to common acetic acid. It sets off bells telling me there must be something bad about acetic acid?
