It is estimated that 4.7% of American adults have ADHD, of those 4.7% roughly half (50% ) are prescribed and take methylphenidate. The rest get amphetamines and about 35% get Adderall, 10% Dexedrine, 4.9% other meds (atomoxetine, bupropion, etc), and less than 0.1% are prescribed Desoxyn. So the chances of coming across someone with a prescription of Desoxyn is about the same as winning the lottery.
Even when it is prescribed, it is prescribed to adults (typically over the age of 30) who have been battling ADHD since childhood, background checks are looked, any background in any kind of substance abuse will definitely not get you Ritalin, let alone Desoxyn, and serious, serious consideration is taken for many other matters before Desoxyn is even considered. You can't just walk in to a clinic and say "Oh ritalin doesn't work, adderall keeps me up all night, dexedrine starves me, and everything else doesn't work" and expect to get Desoxyn. The vast majority of doctors don't even know it's a Schedule II, lol.
