Stimulants Methamphetamine potency nowadays

I recently started dabbling in meth after not having touched the stuff in well over 7 years. My last phase of use was probably within a 2 year period that was also preceded by something like a 6 or 7 year hiatus. Getting to my observation/query: I've noticed this time around in 2012 that, even from multiple sources, the basic quality & appearance of the product is remarkably consistant. A major difference between todays crystal seems to be the overall effect; to me, the high is cleaner & more of a wide-awake alertness with way less comedown crash(almost negligible to me) & none of the body buzz or "tweakiness" the stuff of yesteryear provided. Just curious if anybody else has made similar observations, & also wanted to speculate I must be getting the factory-made jib from Mexico, as it is reputedly flooding the domestic market. I suppose recipes are much different now as well, due to international restrictions on many precursory ingredients. Anybody care to elaborate or corroborate, please do chime in...

Definitely dependent on your source. The product I use is very high quality and clean. I have used methamphetamine that was much weaker than the quality I use now and to be honest it gave me fairly bad anxiety, nausea and a strange head buzz.

While I know very little about the subject, I believe the method of production is probably a good guess as to what causes this difference in quality.

It almost seems to me that the "high" from today's material is more of a hyper-alertness than a euphoric tweak...yet fantastically stimulating. Todays stock also doesnt seem to flood me with artful creativity like it did before, just very focused thought loops & even OCD tendencies, especially relating to watching porn & the masturbation that results. Totally switching gears here: supposedly, there are warehouse sized factories in Mexico cranking(no pun intended) out shards on an industrial scale. Apparently when the US border was rendered impenetrable by the feds in the three & four years after 9/11 & greenbacks quit flowing south; the cartels focused on their own domestic meth production which is far cheaper to produce, & consequently, affordable for Mexican citizens to buy-which became a nice source of income while cross-border narco commerce ground to a halt. My understanding is Mexican meth use has far surpassed epidemic levels.

I don't use methamphetamine anymore, so I can't offer any subjective perceptions.

Methamphetamine is IMO, just as potent as ever, if not more. I don't ever buy shard anymore but the quality is extremely high, higher than EVER.

If you did an acetone wash, you'd see what I mean.

Drugs are only getting more potent and prevalent despite the war on drugs. I can't imagine that meth would be the one drug getting less potent.

Yeah, it's more potent these days, I agree with that, keeps me wide awake and alert. I also notice how I get more insights and clear mind from the stuff out there now, looks like it's a purer drug.

I agree with the overall statement here, drugs do seem to have a trend of increasing potency/use but the one exception is cocaine. In general cocaine use may have increased or decrease but the quality has without doubt gone wayyy downhill. The coke these days is probably no more than 15-20% pure. It's a quite sad :/

Towards the end of my meth career I was getting probably 90% pure and some that was from the cooks , but as has been said its all about the connections , who u know . I can sort of get meth ATM but I haven't yet .

When I was getting it every day I'd get from probably 50% maybe even 40% to 70-80% on average , this was from different dealers though .

Also it has been shown that meth is cheaper and purer than ever , I would believe that fact but there's so much variable in the black market .

Yeah ^ that's true, it all depends on where you're getting your methamphetamine. It is not impossible to find purity in the 90% range if you know the right people.
