After advice on whether speed or meth can affect liver function? Have a friend who is having liver trouble and believes that her meth and speed use may be contributing to the problem. They only use a few times a month.

Meth is probably doing a lot more harm to the brain than to the liver. And surely, he's a comorbid drug user, so something else is more than likely at play.

Most likely, I used seroquel (anti-psychotic) to combat the lack of sleep and psychotic effects from my methamphetamine abuse near daily for years and never had a problem.. yet. It even helped fix my shakes.
 
anti psychotic's always seemed to kill any amphetamine for me. Used it for sleep like jake, but the day after if I tried dosing I'd end up not feeling much...just a bit uncomfortable despite using large amounts.

Someone I knew was on seroquel for schizophrenia, but he loved his meth and it seemed to work ok. He was on high doses of it also. So yeah, not really sure. It'd be effecting it but by how much?

not to sound like your mother but if you are taking anti-psychotics due to recently having a psychotic episode or having schizophrenia you should really stay away from ice. It is likely to make your symptoms alot worse or cause another episode.
 
I always found seroquel to kill an amphetamine high for me, infact when I used meth more frequently I would always have some serries on hand for when I wanted to sleep. That said, I have known a few people over the years to be on large doses of seroquel for various mental health issues that were freqeutn users of meth who most certainly were getting high off it.

I have to echo psytacos statement that if you are suffering from illness that causes you to need anti psychotics then it might be worth your while to stay away from meth all together.
 
At the risk of looking like a bit of a twit...
Learned my lesson in regards to not investigating one's gear thoroughly before IVing it. Yes, I know, I should have smoked a little first, been more careful, but after buying from the same source hundreds of times without error, then waiting a LOT longer than usual, I got lazy and just went for it. In the past it has always been top quality...and although I clearly lack common sense, I possess a little uni level chemistry knowledge etc and would like to think that my opinion is not completely misguided.
Im guessing this batch was a rush job? because straight away I was hit with a god-awful chemically taste that (mental blank...sorry lol) i can only describe as what I think kerosene would taste like? Crystals are dry but have a subtle odor to them. I've smelt this once before when shown some home-made speed by an old-school junkie whom (at his age and after so many years of continuous use) I can't help but have respect for.

So does anyone know what i'm on about? Or what that prominent chemical is? And more importantly, im assuming it's worse for you that your everyday, common garden variety ice? Just how dangerous is it?
Maybe...if all else fails... I can use it as fuel for my spaceship.... =D :D ;)
 
I often get a sorta floral/chemical taste that tastes almost like freshly cut grass smells. Is that what you're describing? That's only from "base" though, not ice. Personally, I fucking love that taste, even though it's probably damaging my body. But whatever. :\

Had ice like that, it's whatever solvent was used for crystallization/re-crystallization, toluene for example is more likely to be left inside crystals when crystallizing.

Yeah, seroquel will deff kill it at the end but if you've just woken up from a sero sleep and start piping you will still get high.
 
haha yeah at first I couldnt stand that taste but now it just seems apart of the process? haha

I know what you mean when referring to the pleasant floral/chemical/cut grass taste. Ah, base...miss it soooo much!
Its not that however... its more of a headache inducing, toxic, solvent type smell. Toluene, thats it. Thank you :D Almost has a slight mouth burning/numbing quality to it.
So, Jakeperson, you've come across this type yourself.... and you're alive to tell the tale. Bonus! Lol. So maybe I should just suck it up and quit being a whiny bitch over the taste! Im guessing it's not riskier or more dangerous than usual then? Whenever hear toluene i automatically think potent nerve toxin lol. As if any of the individual ingredients are particularly beneficial to health anyway (>_<)

It could also be xylene, however toluene is more widely used in most domestic cooks, as the xylene over here, I and many others I have spoken to, have found to be rather oily. If the product wasn't cleaned up properly, and it often isn't, these solvents will often be found in the product that ends up on the streets. Due to the crystals not being dried sufficiently, thus the solvent not being entirely evaporated. Either way, smoking or injecting solvents isn't healthy, but it's an unregulated market so what'ya gonna do? :\

Ideally, none of the "ingredients" required to synthesize methamphetamine be it by HI/RP, hypo or P2P, should end up in the final product. The final product should be exclusively methamphetamine HCl and nothing else.

Yeah and even then xylene and toluene are only necessary to make your pretty little crystals. Luxxxe13, just crush up what you have and leave it to dry, it shouldn't take long, especially in Aus around summer time. And don't worry you want lose any wanted product.
 
I have experienced this. Upon IVing got an instant "petro-chemical" type taste (actually kerosene is the perfect description Luxxxe13), not to be confused with the lovely chemical hot cough that happens after a good shot. This was a ridiculously strong taste/smell regardless of the shot strength. Upon further inspection the crystals had a slight aroma of that nature to them and the taste was noticed when smoked.

I IV'd about 2.5-3 points in 3 shots and experienced no negative effects, other than running out of gear.

This was about 2-3 months ago.

i'd say so meth acts mainly on the dopamine recptors and if your on medication that regulates dopamine activity i'd say there would be some sort of problem.however i have taken meth when i was on endep with no problems
