Seems good quality rock is slightly less common in Adelaide over the silly season this year.. I don't think a break has ever killed any one yet

Have been using for about 6 weeks every day, and accept that I have developed a tolerance. But there seems to be something different to the methamphetamine that is currently circulating, compared to the type around just a couple of years ago. I've bought off 6 different suppliers, and have come to think that the ice has fundamentally changed, i have wondered if it's because of tight controls/lack of availability of pseudoephedrine.

Both myself and a friend notice that the symptoms are different:

Ice from 2009 and before (in brisbane, nsw, and melbourne) would unfortunately make you perspire to a greater extent. But it involved the desire-able feelings of clarity and lightness. Happy/chatty/aroused/creative/make you want to clean/give you energy were other common effects.

Ice from 2012 in melbourne is having different effects. Does not make us perspire, does not involve the clear head-edness but instead brings on a state that feels like your very heavy, low in energy, have a fuzzy brain. My friend (more experienced than I) says it is like old school amphetamine.

Has anybody noticed the same decline in quality and change in effects of ice in Melbourne? Is it just our tolerance? Before this current and unexpected 6 wk binge (have decided to stop as of yesterday), I'd have a 2-3 day meth binge maybe 2-3 times a year over about 3 years, and that would knock me around so much I would feel relieved when it ran out and not want to repeat in a hurry. That is to say, it seemed stronger.

All feedback re: quality and what might be affecting it is welcome. Is it well known that ingredients are different and/or product is less pure these days? I'm sure there must be a change?? Appreciate any insight.

I'm in Melb and am finding the quality consistently good. I usually use a few points over the weekend, well Friday - Sunday morning. 48 hours in and I've had enough. Sleep, recover and do it all again the next week.

Sorry to go a bit OT but this is the appropriate thread for my question.

With this the physical effects are too pronounced when compared to the corresponding mental to be simply low purity d-methylamphetamine.

Any ideas? I have considered whether I have DL-methylamphetamine and the higher body effects but lower mental is due to half of it being the L enantiomer. I have considered dimethylamphetamine and methylamphetamine in the one mixture, which I know has come up in lab results before. More worryingly, I am wondering whether it might be some meth, some MSM and then some type of research chemical such as MDVP or a-PVP (especially after the cocaine and a-PVP thread) all mixed up and then recrystallised into decent looking crystals. Either way it is not how it should be and I would be interested in people's views. This originated from Melbourne.

Ive never had this on its own, its good to read about it but im thinking the low grade d your talking about definitely not coming from the Ephedrine family!! maybe ketone BMK or something who knows, in sidders this is 60-70% maybe more of the market cutter/product. which is huge. Great moulding effect so to speak as affinity between cut/gear goes. probably the best - imagine it would be hard to pull apart because of it. Impossible bunnings job, the pharm labs would probably struggle. Crystallisation wise, its a big seller the shards look great- except its weak as piss. It crumbles early on in life, and could be a bit stronger, but not by much to bother. Strength of the rock is in the meth. if you put it in a petrie you might be waiting a while, its just not that type of compound. Its downfall there, the shelf life (in my opinion quality) of the gear is reduced because of it. Not that it matters!!! who takes a month to smoke a gram anyway.

Its a big chinese thing in sidders anyway, thats where most of its made so it would make sense. anyone could get it if they fly to china prob, and like most products it'd be dirt cheap compared to Meth. Im not sure it actually came from Melb.... coming into Australia from Melb definitely, doesn't it all! It was developed almost solely for the benefit of filling out Meth, and why it would mimic it but without the legs. The stimulant effects wouldn't touch as many sides as meth on a mental level, if you rub it between your fingers it will turn to powder and its a kind of brightish white... its not for me dunno what it is but I can just tell, and I never say that about any drug normally... its just too brightlike, anyway hard to explain!! but its a cleaner cut taken which is a nice change compared to other cutters. it prob fills between 10-40% of the bag. From the manufacturers perspective this substitute is a brilliant way to make even more money from Meth at everyone elses expense, and charge the same money for less product. Just like every other cutter.

Regarding decline in quality; I can't comment for the last 12 months or so, but I was a long term user in Melbourne for a good 10 years and the quality always comes and goes. In my experience it's like this - there's a "drought" and there's nothing around for a while and if you do find something it's probably awful - then suddenly it comes back and it's really pure and really expensive - then slowly the quality starts to decline as does the price, eventually it kind of plateaus at this stage where it's a pretty good price vs quality - then slowly the quality declines more and then after a while there's another drought and then the cycle repeats.

Obviously there are many factors (busts in particular) that attribute to this and it obviously not as straight forward as that and depending on your source the quality you obtain isn't always going to be the same as the average. But largely - I have found meth to follow this trend.

There are certain batches circulating occasionally in Adelaide, generally after a big pseudo bust, the ice you get will be cut with 4-MAR. In theory an active cut is a great idea, but after the first day or two it really sucks. I don't have any proof that it's 4-MAR, like, I've never had it lab tested. I should have said "my opinion is that there is definately meth cut with 4-mar." I am certain it's 4-MAR. I've had straight 4-mar, I can tell the difference. EG: when I get some, i dose, then don't redose for 12 hours because I haven't felt like it (Normally I redose every hour), then after a couple days I get a slump even with redosing, so I eat, then BAM it's like I ate a shitload of tyrosine. Normally eating a big feed after a couple days on MA will make me sleep (I don't eat for days at a time). Plus: 4-mar gives me a really good memory boost....

Look. the point remains I don't have evidence, but TRUST my word, please, that there IS meth out there cut with 4-mar. Sometimes it's up around 20% even.
I really hope another adelaidian backs me up.

OT but in relation to this comment, im not from RADelaide but Im backing you up 100%. While I cant know definitively whether you had a mix of 4-MAR with Meth or 4-MAR pure only a few can comment on the subject with any accuracy. In order they would be from most to least accurate the maker, the people handling your gear before it got to you, you and others who've experienced the effects 4-MAR in its pure form. I'd be more interested to know where those claiming you just had good D got their information... I'd even go so far as to say those who hold that belief or don't believe in its existance in AU know nothing about 4-MAR or they wouldn't be posting as such.

While I completely respect the opinions of others, that you or your mates haven't had 4-MAR on its own or hear little of it from authorities aren't valid or logical reasons to argue down and dismiss the genuine experiences of others who have. Anyone thinking 4-MAR doesn't exist is ridiculous, albeit fundamentally incorrect. The people who've been convicted for making it here and around the world aren't imaginary nor are the authoritive tests on 4-MAR readily available online.

As for you being on 4-MAR mate, you are without a doubt supported in your claim following the correct description of its effects in redosing behaviour and cognitive enhancements. The strongest D-Meth is structurally incapable of having the legs of 4-MAX on those levels. 4-MAR was commonly mixed with Meth, most who had Meth in the early 2000s or less frequently after would've had it and not even known. At a neutral or thereabouts PH the best D can feel like a bit like 4-MAR to first time/occasional users but most seasoned Meth users will notice differences when they finally remember to re-dose half a day later, and often think its just great D.

You know yourself and the effects of bizo on your body, and it is bar none the best test going. Don't doubt it champ it was 4-MAR, mixed or not :D As for me providing evidence on everything I just wrote, what the hell for?? The only thing evidence ever does for any illicit drug (and even some legal ones) is make them weaker. fact. Its the last thing anyone needs when they're spending half the paycheck on it - the evidence supporting that statement can be found in your bag, and all the other bags before it.

First time ive used ice in about a year(except for 1 shot which was nearly a yr ago anyway). Im not disappointed at all. Im having a little bender because something big in my life has come to an end and ive been given quite a bit of money so I got 2 points of lovely shard, 1/2g of nice white rock heroin, a few g's of buds and some benzo's....oh yeh and the dirty base my friend gave me but that doesnt count coz I wont take that, at least this time.

The first lot was pretty decent, not big shards but I got an effect off 10mg, of course I pretty much have no tollerance to meth. We smoked that out of a lightbulb and I was getting most of the smoke and not wasting much at all. But then this guy(who deals the stuff!) Put about 3 points in the lightbulb and proceeded to burn a good $XXX worth of drugs!!! He wasnt rolling it, was touching the flame to the bulb and was doing just about everything wrong and he wouldnt let me tell him any different. So by the end of it there was disgusting smelling smoke all over my house and when I threw out the bulb it was black and had all charred crystal in it. I couldnt believe it!!! Thats why I always control the lighter if its my pipe or my shard, but as I said I never get it so it was nice for a change.

I bought a pipe(only ever owned 1 or 2) today and its so much easier!!! Been smoking out of my new pipe for a few hours now and would love some company. Thats the one thing that can be a bit sucky about meth and MDMA but I guess most other people arent silly enough to do it by themselves ....... Am I allowed to post pics of small amounts of drugs? lol It wouldnt matter if the cops decided they wanted to look through my house it will all be gone by then lol I just wanna show you guys the cool little pipe I got.

Might find something fun to do, see if any friends are around then finish off this crystal and enjoy ourselves for awhile then have a nice fat shot of H and take a few xannies slowly after that(everyone should know that xanax with any opiate is a stupid idea. Ive OD'd on it before on doses I thought were safe!!!) Need to wait til I finish this GF juice off first.

Oh btw... Ive known for a long time that both are meth but this gas/base/gak/speed the moist, stinky, cheap and very impure meth that goes around most areas of NSW, southern QLD and VIC. Ive have finaly come to the conclusion that both of these forms of meth feel soooo different! And I really dont understand how people can prefer base! I know people that despise crystal meth and see it as a dirty junky drug but gakky speed is fine to down grams and grams of :/ Why do they feel so different?!? Ice makes me feel upbeat, focused, clear headed etc..... Base make me anxious, introverted, I always think im going die every time I take it without benzos as a comedown aid. Its really not worth it anymore for me. They really do almost feel like different drugs and its impossible to convince most of my friends that they are the same but just made in a different way or whatever it is. I wish someone on here could give a clear answer on why base/gas/gak/speed is different to Ice/Crystal meth/shabu. Ive had base that was smokeable before but usually its not. Its commonly injected too which is a big worry but ive done it too so I think it needs to be looked into because too many Aussies think it is some safe drug that is very hard to OD on and "pure" as its often sold as.

People just dont listen to you when your trying to tell them something about drugs thats in their best interests. Everyone is a bloody genius and of course they know exactly what their talking with drugs. Maybe this is why I keep a distance from local drug using mini-communities, the speedfreaks are all bikies or scary people with mental issues(not all of em, just the ones I now).... I dont see any cokeheads around.... The ice users are starting to come out of the woodworks and the more they use the scummier they all become. I had money stolen off this crowd not long ago so I stay away from them.....Then theres the heroin users which I stick with coz they can still be pretty normal people and have often kept their morals and been nice toward me. In fact ive never been ripped off by a heroin addict. Its always been for ice/speed, pot or alcohol. And the H users like to dabble in other things every now and then which is my style.

So yeh moral of the story.... Be good if your gonna use drugs. Dont steal, dont tax peoples deals, dont share needles and just be nice to people and think about how they might feel. Ask someone even if its in the street how their day is going, they might be having the worst day of their lives and just need someone open minded to talk to. If you saw me in the street im almost 100% sure you wouldnt think I was a heroin user, a meth user or an IV user, I doubt it would even cross your mind. But theres been a ton of times when ive needed help and noone has been there. I just think the world needs to be kinder to each other.

I just dont understand why an IV shot of even decent base/gas/impure meth feel soooooo different to a shot of Ice/crystal meth? ^ Had to remove a price from your post, I know it wasn't explicit but when you name a quantity of drugs and then how much money was wasted in the same line it is a bit obvious.

You are allowed to post pics, I believe there is even one at the top of the page before this one, so long as you keep it to personal quantites its okay.

In regards to the difference between shards and base, I suppose there is a reasonable chance that the base you are getting is racemic meth as opposed to D meth. Shards are always D meth so far as I am aware, which is generally regarded to be more recreational and euphoric than racemic gear (commonly referred to as 'ketone'). I notice you mention you feel the biggest difference on the comedown so there is a chance that it might be shitty stuff in the base that wasn't cleaned properly during/after the manufacturing process compared to ice which is generally pretty clean. Other than that I can't offer you an explanation why they would be different.

pickin up a half weight of some supposedly killer gear this arvo off a kiwi bloke I met on sunday (the main reason I trust him is the way he described the gear he has, ontop of the fact him n his mates are doing nothing illegal in their day-to-day activities and its only 3/4's of the average price.. will let ya's know how it goes :D

I've looked it up. I've read different things. It seems very hard to pin down.

I know mg and mcg, but no one used the term "point" to describe a weight. I don't even have a scale so I guess I don't NEED to know. It's just that I always see point used at Bluelight and nowhere else and I would like to know the measure.

Ice Age in Australia?? (Crystal Meth)

Hey!.

So, where im from ice has become a very popular drug and is also socially acceptable throughout most social group's.
Its become a normal thing here, the most preferred way being to smoke whereas people who shoot it are still very frowned upon.

Everyone is aware that it causes mental and or anxiety problems but simply doesn't care, so i guess i have 2 questions.

1. Has ice become more acceptable everywhere now?
2. How real is the mental damage?? i mean we all have read up about it but has anyone witnessed or experienced this?? if so please tell your experience. (don't want to see "ive met fried cunt's" etc etc) lol..

I think methamphetamine has absolutely become more acceptable now, and has been that way for at least a few years now. Some observations I've had of the scene; when I first began puffing in 2003 it was quite a novel thing, not nearly as widepsread. When people used methamphetamine it was much more likely to be 'speed', and snorted. Over the next couple of years the popularity grew rapidly, until in 2005 most of my friends were puffing, although 'smokable speed' was still very popular, and 'ice' was less than half the price it is now, and sold in grams or half grams, rarely in points.

I think it was in 2007 when I first came across generally higher purity, but much more expensive methamphetamine being sold in points. Around this time mdma quality began it's decline until by 2009 most pills were utter shite, and meth use seems to have consequently increased. I think this period was the most influential in the growing popularity of ice - a combination of people looking for a different 'party' drug since mdma was so hard to get, and also that smoking as the most popular ROA and the generally higher purity of ther drug exponentionally increased its addictiveness. Smokable speed seems to have declined in popularity and I think this is also an indication of the new level of addictiveness of ice; lower purities no longer have a market.

I've read that cycles of methamphetamine usually go for about 10 years. Methamphetamine isn't a drug that can be used long term in the same way as opioids. Most people will only use heavily for 5, 6, 7 years at most, because after that the damage from the drug starts getting too severe. Once people start seeing more and more of the negative effects, it's meant to slow down the uptake of it until gradually the popularity drops. If the ten year thing is correct maybe we'll see use dropping in the next 2 or 3 years. Who knows.

As for mental damage, I used heavily for a long time but I never developed any clinical mental illness. I felt anxious and depressed and paranoid while high or coming down, but it was an acute effect of the drug, rather than 'triggering' a proper mental illness in me. I've known a lot of meth users and I'd say the same goes for them. I can only think of one person I know whose use seems to have triggered an actual mental impairment in him. He's been using for so long though, he was actually the guy who introduced me to it in 2003. He's fucked now, has imaginary friends, always sings what he's saying to you, and generally seems to not be functioning at all well anymore.

1. Yes. I remember when I was getting into the MDMA scene a few years back. People who smoked 'ice' where constantly warned that they would loose their shit. Permanently.
It was deffinetly fround upon a lot more back then. But of course a few people done it. I'm not denying anything .

Now days I have friends that wouldn't touch a thing through high school, and 6 years after. But now days their hitting the pipe like there's no tommorow.

Me personally? I don't seem to enjoy stimulants as much these days, and as much as everyone else I know. Always thought it had to do with too much MDMA back in the day. It just keeps me up. Too long. Wayyy too long.
The added side effect of anxiety hitting me a lot more now days seems to have shifted my taste buds.


I noticed that too footscrazy, with a massive acceptance to the drug once MDMA quality started to drop.

Ice has become ridiculously popular and socially acceptable in pretty much all my circles of friends. A while back I decided to abstain for a while and found it insanely difficult to avoid social situations where meth would be used without becoming a complete recluse. It's pretty sad how many people are falling badly into the trap of addiction to methamphetamine, its becoming a pretty severe social problem where I live and it is quite difficult at this point to imagine it wont get worse...

Just picked up some pretty good meth, but its my first time doin any amps for about a yeah. And I have to say it is definitely getting a lot better quality than I was using before. I have really no anxiety, which I usually get from ecerything.wasn't planning on sleeping tonight but these valium are surprisingly mellow in me out.

Twichsta- To answer your question, the big ice thing never really hit my area. People here are into their pills/MD caps, coke and "speed" or base/gas whatever your circle calls it mostly, every now and then you'll meet someone who doesnt think acid is a drug you take if you want to go crazy. But in my circle of close friends, ice is a big no-no. Most of my friends wouldnt let me smoke it in their house and frown apon its use in a big way. Like most people view heroin. I have tried to tell them over and over that it is the same chemical thats in the rancid speed they take(some of the shit that passes for speed around here is fucking putrid but the worse it smells apparently the better it is :/ ) but few believe me, its just ignorance. They dont want to think its ok to smoke ice because theyve seen all the hysteria in the media so they know to stay well clear of it or they will end up a slave to the pipe. And it is pretty true and im glad ice never really did hit my circle because were all fucked up enough from drugs, I think having crystal around would cause a lot of damage to just about everything about our group. Ive done a fair bit of crystal and I have very good self-control when it comes to stimulants(with opiates/benzos all that goes out the door!) but I think if it were around more it definitely would have grabbed my friends by their balls.

Amongst my group of friends though there is a huge amount of ignorance and false information surrounding drugs and as much as I try to push facts on them some just wont listen. As I said not many of my mates will take LSD as they think it will make you go mad, the ones who have actually had it with me know now that it does make you go crazy, but in the best way possible ..... I dont think crystal meth will ever become popular among my group, speed is the main stim and thats probably because many of my friends are affiliated with a certain bikie gang, so id say we will keep getting the speed thats been around for longer than ive been in the scene(nearly 10 years). Plus we're not the richest bunch and if we were, coke would be the main drug. Its the drug everyone wants and wants to be seen with. Speed is cheap, you dont need a ton and its literally everywhere up here so why use anything else?


Sorry I had a good ol' rant just then im methed up myself. IV'd just under a gram of this speed shit ive been talking about, im sure most of you know what im talking about. But if ive used a gram of this stuff, and I have trouble finishing a point of crystal in a night then it does make me wonder how pure(or impure) this stuff really is!?! I would have got crystal but I have to go through some pretty shady people for that and last time I had $100 stolen, so for now I know this "speed" is just crap with a little bit of meth, id rather use this than give those sad souls another chance to rip me off!

So yeah, ice is around but not really in my main social circle, everyone takes speed though. Ive heard many times that you cant OD on speed :s
