I don't know I'm weird, but I absolutely love that insanely scary rush you get when you whack up too much crystals. Like when you use 2+ points, coughing up and that sick feeling that your about to spew but at the same time the rush is so intense that your vision is blurry and you can't walk straight.

I remember my first shot with higher purity rock and fuckn hell, it floored me harder than anything I ever had before that point it time.. full blurry vision,

I have probably had shit effect my vision before, but if I can recall I guess after long binges, however last Sunday I had a resonably big bowl, after about 5 days of nothing and it seriously fucked my vision for about 2 good hours.

Having said that I did not feel awesome, not a nice 'pick me up, energy boost' I was hoping for first thing in the morning as we were heading out. I actually felt a bit flat, a bit like my head was in a vice and to be honest just crap... kind of lathargic even.

Anyone else experience the blurred vision but not feel and rush?

yeh iv had the occasional blurred smokey hazy vision usually a combination sleep deprivation and pushing the limits and smoking too much.

before i put the pipe back on the shelf i was consistently getting this weird sensation that my brain was a flat tyre spinning spinning spinning until the tyre distorted out of shape and was banging into tyre guard the back of my head...theres no fun in knowing your fucking yourself up. lethargy from speed is contradictory like your body and mind is trying to say something while it still can haha :)

I always get fucked up vision from meth especially if im using a computer or texting a lot. When I IV though usually everything in my vision becomes ultra-clear for a few seconds before returning back to normal. Its towards the end of a session or binge that my vision becomes blurry and fucked up, it happens with MDMA too though, I think I just have bad eyes.

Been craving meth lately like a futhermucker. Funny that most days id take a bowl over a shot. Theres just something about twirling that glass pipe and seeing the crystals melt into that sweet vapour we have all come to love(or hate). I am a smackhead through and through but every now and then I get this extreme urge to smoke and so far this urge has not left me for at least a week! Im probably lucky that crystal isnt big here amongst my crowd, only shitty base :!

^ I used to think that too but it doesn't always seem to correlate. My eyes always dilate on mdma and yet I don't get the blurry vision like I used to on meth.

meth will mess more with my peripheral vision whereas mdma will just fuck my vision completely.

an underlying eye condition alongside with astigma and drugs that release a good amount of serotonin can amount for some interesting visuals. all i need is the right angle of light and i can trip balls.

i dont understand how you guys get addicted to shard...

like honestly, doesn't anyone have self control?

i dont see why its so addicting, im fine...

anyway my question, how can you tell some real quality shard?
shard im getting has a fair taste, is this normal? crystals are small like tiny pebbles, not like a crystal with sharp edges.

last time i got on, i was buzzing off half a point for less than 6 hrs....

you can't tell the quality of shard these days without doing a purity test. the cooks these days have gotten good at the game with the cuts; looks can and will be deceiving.

the only other way is by using it obviously. treat every new bag as it were a new batch and start small to get some gauge of it's purity and effects.

Yoblack, you're not likely to get the most helpful advice when you start your post directing your naive judgements at meth addicts. Don't theorise on something that you admit you don't understand. Your first three sentences are completely inappropriate for this forum. Please show a little more respect.

is this not a methamphetamine discussion thread?

its something i genuinely don't understand...

helping me understand would be HECTIC

apologies for sounding rude

it's got to do with the dopamine release it produces.

heaven forbid people do a little of their own research then ask the ambiguous questions.

Asking for further clarification on something you don't understand is fine. Saying

carries an implicit judgement that anyone who is addicted to meth just hasn't tried as hard not to be as you. I think it's simplistic to suggest that the only reason you haven't become addicted to meth is because you have a level of self control all the hundreds of thousands of people addicted to meth lack. There are so many different factors at play, there's no one reason people do or don't get addicted.

we all get the same dopamine spike though... its a mental thing
there's no physical addiction

Whilst biologically the effects on meth are similar person to person, how that person responds to the experience is anything but homogeneous. How someone conceptualises and responds to anything is incredibly varied from person to person, and depends on all sorts of things; their personality, their physiology, their mindstate, their environment, and so on.

A drug's mechanism of action alone cannot predict whether that person will get addicted to it or not.

Ola... Don't you just fricking hate this... You have the crave for the puff, you fight it off coz you need to save some cash. Patiently resisting, you wait and wait... Then the day comes, off you go to make some calls, but no.. Either no one's on, or they've zanny bricked or melted down or whatever the case may be. Day turns to night...You call another source or two and finally, its on. It's not where you'd normally go but you know the dude fairly well. Y'all know where this is headed... You drive outta your way, pay top dollar for your puff, end up with less of it but you disregard this shortfall as by now you are fiendishly craving the sweetpuff like nothing else. Home you go and loading her up you notice it looks a bit shitty, but not too bad and then you commence to light it up... Its not the best, but you still hope for it. You try and try and puff and puff and you already knew it coz it tasted like a bowl of frickin cutters but its money down the drain and your feeling hungry and tired... You end up having nothing left to take back and complain about and by this time you are over it and fucked off and you aren't in the mood to listen to the fiendish crap excuses anyway :-(

Screw that... Well that describes my weekend. So going back to the purity topic, definitely down here in Melbourne. But you win some and you lose some more... Arrggh!

^ Pretty sure I will feel like crap after a weekend of indulging, a day at the footy with friends, needing and a day or two of recovery to come.

Footscrazy I am so glad there are people like you on here with experience and compassion to set a standard. Its a shame your wisdom probably falls on deaf ears of those who think they know more.

We all have seen addictions in different shapes and forms. No I dont physically crave meth, so can I say I am not addicted? No Way. As soon as the bills are paid and there is cash at my disposal I am making that call and the saga of what anti-down said above begins. Weeks can go by without touching it, but will I be desperately trying to score to go and see my favourite Aussie hip hop band in a few weeks? Hell Yes. Its not only the drug that can be addictive its the experiences around it that we also crave.

My partner gambles. The pattern of going to the casino, binge drinking, gambling until dawn and swinging by the hookers on the way home was something he did for years. Those behaviours went hand in hand for so long I would be naive to think he doesn’t still crave it if not even still do it.

like honestly, doesn't anyone have self control? im fine...

Yoblack I hope you take on board Footscrazys comments. Can you honestly say you have never buckled in any area of your life and lost self control? Self control is also having the mental maturity that if you think you are above the trappings that have claimed so many who have lived a long life before you.. to not openly boast about it.

@ Yoblack-I kind of hope your comments are from a place of ignorance and you're not being inflammatory.... I'm not really sure how you can deny that meth is a powerful and potentially addictive drug. Of course, not everone becomes addicted to meth. As footscrazy articulated, the response each individual has to this substance is the combination of a variety of factors...

If you can take it on a recreational basis, great...by no means am I attempting to impart an anti-meth sentiment.

But what defines addiction? Is it necessary to develop a fully blown, long term habit to realise that one's relationship with the drug involves an element of dependence/craving?
I personally believe meth doesn't discriminate: it doesn't matter how much self-control, willpower or discipline one exhibits in general life, if it gets you, it gets you. It is a chemical; therefore it would follow that it changes the brain, and subsequently decisions and behaviours.

I'm not a smoker-have tried cigarettes on multiple occasions but never enjoyed it nor took up the habit. If I so desired I could light one up, then put it away and never have or think about another. Do I deny that nicotine is addictive? Not at all. Would I tell my friends who smoke and have trouble kicking the habit that really, all they lack is "self-control"? Never...
