Methamphetamine and Methadone are eliminating my sex drive

I am on 100mg of methadone daily for MT, I am strongly considering tapering down to 8mg of suboxone for more reasons than just heightened sex drive.

I am only 23 and unless I'm high on methamphetamine I have no desire to have sex but when I have sex on meth I end up feeling deeply guilty when I'm coming down. It's not helpful in any way, the sex is amazing but it's completely meaningless 'fucking'. At the rate I'm going no guy is ever going to want me and I don't feel I'm able to satisfy another guy and Methadone plays a huge part but after reading something just then I now understand that maybe there's more to it and that me only ever really having sex when high may be causing some of my low libido.

Really I'm confused and haven't got a clue what to do but I know that it's not normal for a 23 year old guy to be so ignorant of something so awesome. I remember when I came off bupe for a few month the feelings, sexual and otherwise came on strong and clear. It was amazing and only reminds me of what I'm missing out on :/

You already know what will help - work towards taking less methadone.

Not sure how you think sobriety will lead to meaningful sex and intimacy, but less meff is always a good idea.
 
Yeah I'm not sure exactly what you want us to help you with. I mean, unfortunately it is a side effect. You've kind of got to slow down your usage.
 
Yeah I hate it after a whole weekend on the gear, my porn stash is pretty much made obsolete in that they are no longer rewatchable after having jerked to them all for 12 hours at a time. Need fresh material all the time and good quality scenes are getting harder to find. On the plus side, at least during the week I don't act being sleazy at all, just kind of androgynous really. But as soon as the sweet puff comes out, bring it on like donkey kong!!!
