I been going through a lot of issues since they switched products at my home pharmacy and what i mean by this is, a few months ago the pharmacy was using Methadone (Powdered) and i believe they had to mix the contents to TANG (Juice Powder), anyways a few months ago they informed us it was a new product called Methadose in witch this Methadone is made by a company and comes as liquid cherry flavored i believe but the pharmacy still adds their TANG juice crystals for whatever reason i'm not sure.
Long story short since the change in production methods of my Methadone and maybe other contributing factors diet, exercise etc etc, i have been suffering from what i think is constipation from this medication. At first it was just some hard stools so i started eating more things to help me us the restroom with ease, but honestly nothing is helping it only seems to be getting worse, after i pass these massive rocks my whole intestine hurts and at times i can almost feel its whole process as it passes through. So since they changed the product 2 months ago i been suffering from this, the first 3 months of my treatment i suffered from nothing with a total of 5 months of total prescribed use, not sure if there is something that seems familiar here by someone that comes across this and reads but its starting to make me worried and plan on going to see a doctor and see if this is just coincidence and maybe i'm having health issues? But i write this because i have read other threads of constipation and Methadone going hand in hand. I have bad anxiety to begin with so im not sure if this is just getting in my head because i'm not use to having issues using the washroom and have zero history using Methadone other than my 5 months i been on it for abusing Morphine.
So in reality of things me being so new to this treatment medication and the side effects that come with it, meaning is it normal to pass such hard movements when on Methadone, has anyone every experienced the tenderness of their bowels due to these hard poops, is there something i should be doing to avoid this, is this normal to be constipated 7 days a week always passing stools like this while on this medication.
I don't know if there is anything i missed that may help the reader compare this problem and the severity of it.
I'm a 33 year male, normally healthy, Pot smoker, Often Cigarette smoker, Non drinker, Don't exercise much, Don't drink enough water.
Hope this post can lead to some answers and a better understanding of any side effects while using methadone, what's normal and what's not on this subject.
