I was on methadone for 5 months and decided to get off last Friday. It's been like 10 days and I can still not feel any opiate effects!!!! I've taken like 3 80 oxy's and nothing! how long does ittake to feel something? my dose was at 90 mg....

I start taking Suboxone next week sometime so just wanted to feel a buzz again before I start that. Verrry frusterated!!!!

annnnnd...I have to be clean for 3 days before I get suboxone!!! I can't take anything to help with withdrawals..what can I do to help with that?

Use an opiod converter you can find them on google. I just typed 90 mg of methadone into one and it said it is equivalent to 225mg of oxycodone, that is with 0% cross tolerance.
 
That conversion cant be right. I buy 140mg bottles of methadone, i could finish that in a day easily. I could not finish 225mg of oxy. 112.5 mg of oxy will knock me the fuck out and 70mg of methodone does not compare to that amount of oxy ime. 70mg of methodone feels rather mild, like 40-60mg of oxy. Thats even after i havnt done any opies in 6-7 days(im a chipper) though 6-7days of no use never lowered my tolerance to any opiates anyway.

Wow. I misread not even 70mg but 45mg! Methadone is not that strong.
 
well I wonder why I can't get a buzz with like three 80's in me?? what the helllllll................and it's been like 10 days since i've taken methadone!!!!

Well that is a mystery to me also but you were on it 5 months everyday. i use 1-3times a week and take 6-7days off very often and my tolerance never lowers in that time period at all.Takes close to a month for me to notice a difference and i use alot less than you did. idk maybe im wierd.

what dose were you on those 5 months?
 
awww ever crappy...going on suboxone next week and wanted to atleast get sommmme kinda buzz...grrrrr how can you go off methadone for 7 days..I heard it's a nightmare getting off that.
 
Imo, Methadone is strong stuff. I took 5mg Methadone once & it changed the amount of Norcos I had to take for pain relief. Just off that 5mg of Methadone, it changed how much I would need to feel relief again from Norcos.

5 months is a long time on Methadone & hat might be the reason why you cant feel the oxycodone. Also, how many mgs of Methadone were you on daily?
 
The half life of methadone is incredibly long, which is why the withdrawals from methadone can last 3-4 weeks if going cold turkey at that high a dose. I as well got off of 70mg methadone daily after 15 months of use, and the withdrawals were still going strong over 25 days later. No amount of suboxone helped. Shooting large shots of dope barely even took the edge off. 300mg of oxycodone barely even put a dent in it.

Daily methadone use jacks your tolerance up incredibly high, where barely anythign can break thru it, and the very high doses you would need to take can be potentially dangerous..

Since you are getting on suboxone next week, there isn't much you can do other than take ridiculous heroic doses to catch a half assed buzz at best.

It isn't harm reduction this thread. It would be dangerous for us to advise you to take huge doses so you can try and catch a buzz. Unfortunately I am going to close this thread, since it is self serving and this topic has been beaten to death 1000 times.

Please use the search engine, and check out the OD directory and peruse the methadone mega thread, the subxone mega thread, and other threads about this very topic. Also please read over the BLUA and Other Drugs posting standards to get an idea of what is and is not acceptable material in this forum.

This graph is for bupe but methadone has a long half life as well so it is similar. OP with daily dosing you aren't used to having 90mg of methadone in your body at one time, but much much more.
