so yeah, i used to be a mod on this site, and dissappeared and seemed to have fucked up again.. Anyway, I dont want to touch an opiate ever again.. so dont suggest it..

Ive come off 100mg of methadone in seven days...

what the fuck do i do? how long is this gonna last? is this damn clonidine worth filling?

i guess i know the answer, just want to hear that im not the only one that has done this before..

If I ever had to come off methadone I would replace with a shortacting pure mu agonist for at least 2 weeks first. By the way, depending on how long you were on it, you could be in WD for one maybe 2 weeks. THen you head would still be outta wack for like 2 months.

They really need a shorter acting maintnece medicine. Methadone does fit the bill pretty well though. Higher mu affinity, long halflife - good for somethings, CHEAPCHEAPCHEAP.

Physical symptoms should last anywhere from 1.5-3 weeks. Some will go away quicker than others. Psychologically, it'll take months, usually 2-6 from my experience. It's a cliche, but getting clean is easy compared to how hard it is to stay that way. Whatever, I don't know many people that want to stay clean, as opposed to just not being dependant.

Anyway, the fastest way is to ride it out without any opiates. Clonidine and benzos should help. If that's too much to handle you could get some bupe. You shouldn't feel anything on that, but it'll take you longer to get clean...

I'm just being very topical about all this, not getting into any details. If you're interested in more, just search. Its all been covered to death.

Your jumping off a cliff, I guess since you already did it, why go back now though. I would take the clonidine if I were you, and just sit tight. The time will go by very slow, but it will be over before you know it and know more liquid handcuffs to worry about. Either way, good luck.

because the methadone industry is federal drug dealing.. no money, no dope... get what im saying?? i lost my job and by the time i came up with the money i was discharged. 80 bucks a week adds up and after that 300 dollar mark they just boot you out with a 14 day detox, which they also are charging you for, so you could pay the 300 and still owe 160 which would keep you on detox anyway...


i was on for 7 months, 'stabilized' at 100mg.. i gave up on trying to stave of detox when shooting a twenty bag might as well have been water..

3 weeks of this shit... lol sometimes a bullet feels like the best fix out there.. but i got hope that it wont always be this way, so im gonna hang in there.

Suicide is a permanent solution to a permanent problem. Also I don't think Immodium AD does shit for serious wd, it helps for a 1 week chip that went too far, but for methadone wd it won't do shit. At least it didn't for me.

Hey silverfucked good to see some of the old names back. 100mg's is a damn high dose, double what I'm on. Methadone withdrawal is such a frustrating experience. While lacking the intensity of heroin w/drawal it has that long drawn out lingering effects. I tried dropping off 40mg a few years back and only last 3 days when I came running back to doctors to get back on it. Hope thinsgs improve man. Clonodine and benzos will take off some of the edge but compared to what your going through its going to be no where near enough. The sad thing is the only fix is opiates!.....

im in same spot of methadone w/d. its day 3, however, my last dose was like one puny milligram. yes you heard me, ONE milligram ish . however, i still have quite some symptoms im hoping will subside..and one symptom that eerily appeared very recently, is the urge to get high on them opioids again man. but i dont think i can do that..and fuck man i feel for you..good luck man.

It doesn't matter the exact number because it feels like much longer than it is any way. I bought methadone off the street for a couple of months and switched back to hydrocodone cause my girl wasn't ready to deal with me using 'done yet and I still needed to fill the hole after many many "days" (I remember thinking, "this is day 17 w/out methadone".) and ended up going to a clinic.

That sucks, I went through morphine and ever muscle on my body was rigid and extremley sore. Plus you will start seeing painkillers lying around on the floor. Nothing to do but wait it out though..

80 bucks a week? Damn, what state do you live in. If you go to a state run clinic you can get it for a lot cheaper. Im in NY and its 15 bucks a week and im at the same dose as you 100mgs. Some of the ppl in my clinic get it for 6 bucks a week too.

TN... this is a state run clinic .. the only in nashville... also happens to be a junk hotspot, imagine that... You can get your shit for free if you go thru this God based iniatiative and go to their meetings everyday.. its too late for that, though..

i did such a quick taper because without the money, you dont get the dope.
