My doctor switched me from 40 mg of methadone a day after 4.5 years to 40 mg of oxymorphone. She said they would be no withdraw,I now know this isn't true. I'm a weld tech that works with robotics and I'm in bad shape. I've been off methadone cold turkey and on oxymorphone about 9 days.Is the worst behind me

Hi, Welcome to Bluelight ! !

Why did your doctor switch you from methadone to oxymorphone? Odd to me. Indeed there will be a withdrawal. Did he/she do a taper plan with you? How are you doing now? Do you mind if I move your post to another forum. Here is The Opioid Withdrawal Megathread and FAQ for starters.

I am off opiates myself. It's not easy but it IS possible, but you indeed need some help to ease the process. Thanks for making an introduction. :)

How you 'do' this medication is crucial. Orally unfortunately will not provide any relief..at least not for me. Idk the correct term but nasal offers best results. Good luck and I truly hope you can get some relief!
