I hear that most methadone clinics require you to check in daily to get your dose..... with siboxone, is this the same? or will the doc write you a script that lasts a couple weeks/ month?

i live in South Jersey.... if anyone can chime in.... I am in need of either or and will be making calls monday.....

In Florida I got 90 of the Suboxone 8/2mg film strips for a month. BTW, that was for Oxycodone @ about 120mg - 180mg a day I was on.

The first day I only took 16mg and went down to 8mg-10mg a day after that...I seem to even recall I even dropped down to 8mg a day by the first week. I was only on them for about 2 1/2 weeks and then put back on Oxycodone 10/325 @ 4 a day. It worked good to get my mg's down!

Suggestion, don't take any more mg's a day that you have to. Doctors LOVE to over kill with that shit!!!

Thanks so much man.... i really appreciate the reply.... I really am having a tough time with a heroin withdrawal; and I cannot afford anytime off during work; YET I need to travel interantaionlly for my job, THUS, I need the one which I will be given take homes.... and i think suboxone allows this more often the methadone?

sub is dispensed totally different from methadone... methadone, you need to go to the clinic every day, eventually over long periods of time (months, years) they will give you increasing numbers of take homes... with subs, you just go to the sub doctor and they write you a script that you go fill at the pharmacy. usually when you start with them you will have to visit the doctor and get a new script every few weeks but most doctors will eventually switch you over to once a month visits once they get familiar with you. so with the subs, you are getting at least two weeks of "take homes" right off the bat, if you want to go to the methadone clinic, it will probably be months before you even get one take home dose.

You in the states are lucky. In Canada I have had to go to the pharmacy everyday for supervised dosing for subs. Even after a month of clean urine tests

$10 a day pharmacy fee plus5-10$ for the pills. To save money I told my doc I was taking 4mg but only took 2mg and slip one pill in my pocket and go every second day

This is spot on. Just be sure to stay clean while on suboxone because the doctors will drug test you when you go in for your appointments, and they may stop writing you scripts if you fail multiple tests.

If I were you i'd use sub but please consider a fast taper, unless you need the time to restore the mental aspect of addiction. I stayed on sub wayyyyyyyyy too long and just recently figured a way to get off of it, and it involved reusing my drug of choice. I can promise you that most patients do NOT need more than 2mg to remain stable. If I were you i'd get the script as normal but take a much smaller dosage than the dr recommends, enough to rid withdrawal without excess. Then slowly set up a schedule to ween down very very slowly. Suboxone can be a miracle for some but a complete curse for others which is the only reason I don't recommend long term use. They say sub is comparably 40x stronger than morphine so you want to be careful with it. Methadone is a whole 'nother Nightmare and from what I hear, much worse withdrawals than sub.

It's amazing to me how docs will prescribe 24mg of sub per day for an oxy habit less than like 1000mg per day lol

I only need about 1mg for cleaning up a 200mg/day habit

These doctors are unreal. I bet they don't even do any research on the drug before they prescribe it

Suboxone is easier to ween off and you only have to go to the doc. Once a month to get your scripts. It may be a lil expensive but its worth not going to the clinic everyday!! Goodluck man I wish you the best on your long journey in recovery. Trust me its hard but its do-able!!!

I suggest suboxone. alovesupreme, good explanation !

I was on 60-90mg oxy and atleast 0.3-0.4Grams a day of east coast boy and I started at 16ng sub, then 8mg after q week. Then 4mg in a month. Then 2mg after 2weeks, no w I take 0.5-1.5mg a day and I feel the best. Suboxone works better at lower doses i've been on 1 milligram for at least 6 months now and only relapsed once.

Subs completely atop all my cravings for opiates, gives me a good mood lift and energy in the morning and helps ne sleep at night. you still have your sex driv you still have your sex drive and you get a more agonistic effect. For suboxone the lower you go the better you feel, the best dose is the 1 that will keep you from getting sick and feel normal. Addition the best does is the 1 that completely takes away cravings , but I recommend staying under 4 milligrams because over that the buprenorphine attach is on to the receptors too strong and you get more of an antagonistic effect rather than small dose you leave room for the ignore Beaufort North Phoenix to bind to Norbuprenorphine is an agonist and feels very good

Yeah, and he also told me that if I needed more I could take 32mg a day.

As far as research, my blood pressure went up to 250/150 and I ended up in the ER. For two and a half weeks the doctor kept telling me Suboxone will NOT raise BP. I told him every web site I went to asked questions about BP and Suboxone out of control. All I got was, "you know how web sites are." He finally called the Suboxone rep and he was told Suboxone can cause low BP, but WILL NOT cause high BP.

I then go to the Suboxone web site and I find it hidden away in the trial tests that Suboxone did in fact cause high BP in some people at 8mg a day. (His nurse told me she went there the first week my BP went that high and she never found it...that's how well hiddedn it is!) He was PISSED!!! So was I when I have to do the research for him!!! Not only that, I could've died with BP that high for about 2 1/2 weeks.
