Methadone to Suboxone

really does not work for shit!

I switched from Methadone to Suboxone. I was told that I had to get down to at the least 30mg of Methadone before doing so and had to wait 3 days before I could start it. It worked like a charm.

how did it work for you to get that low......you really puked for a straight week or 2 and took benzos smoked and took other meds and nausea meds? I wouldn't mind switching if it treats my nicer than methadone and isn't AS addicting

Well, I've gone off Methadone completely before without switching and I was puking & everything for roughly 2 weeks, the physical withdrawals lasted like 6 weeks. My second time around I switched and it worked so much smoother. Benzodiazepines helped a little but I was (am) tolerant and don't notice their effects. Nausea meds would be helpful.

I cannot stand puking....I cant eat afterwards or drink i just curl up in a ball.....Is it bearable> and if so how? I would smoke shit tons of weed...I want to taper first but seriously.....err

Most unbearable I have ever went through! I was hallucinating that I was in Hell talking to demons, sweating so hard, puking my throat out, without anything in my stomach. Its tough sitting on the toilet shitting out every last thing in your body. This went on for two weeks! I wanted to die. I'm surprised I didn't cut my fucking wrists. The next month it was just like typical heroin withdrawals. Nasty as fuck. I don't know how I did it but it makes me shake just thinking about it.

buprenorphine is a lot lighter than methadone.. i tapered off 90mg methadone and it was hell... now i'm back on subs, and i can get high one or two days (sniff sniff.. no longer IV), then keep the rest for after...

but it doesn't really have that opiate feeling that methadone does

I tapered off Suboxone once for 5 days (after being on it for 6 months) and the withdrawals were nothing like Methadone. Although they are moderately harsh after being on them for that long. Most bothersome w/d's were muscle pain, sweating & insomnia. No puking or hallucinations like Methadone produces. You don't feel like you have the most hardcore flu for weeks on end.

I went back on the Suboxone maintenance though. I didn't think that the time was right however the time will never really feel like its right. I relapsed on Oxycodone & Heroin so I decided I needed to go back on it again. I'm currently only taking 2mg every other day at the moment.
