Hello All

This is my first thread. I'm extremely sorry if it was placed in the wrong spot.
But time is of the essence for me right now and I was praying for some quick responses.

Here's my situation.

I'm currently using black and very rarely take methadone or methadose. I've been addicted
on the street and in the clinic and done my fair share of 30-45 day kicks with PAWS
that never truly seemed to fade. I've taken methadone/methadose probably only 8-10 times
in the past year out of fear of getting addicted to that crap again.

My last dose of methadose 30mgs was Friday the 20th around 8-10 AM
It's now Sunday the 22nd around 8:30 AM and I did my last bag an hour ago
and have not taken methadone or methadose since Friday.

So here is my situation. Unless I come into money for another bag to carry me
through the day I will have to resort to taking my last 25mg of Methadone (tablet form).

My question is if I have to take the 25mgs of methadone do I really have to wait 72 hrs
from that dose to start sub?

I know It'll stay in my system for a bit...but I know I'd be sicker than a dog after 72 hrs...
The only time I really remember it carrying me was when I was in the clinic taking 120 mgs
a day for a couple years...I know my system was saturated...

Right now...not so saturated....

Soooo if I'm yawning, stretching and have watery eyes even and its only been 24-48 hrs from my last done am I'm ready to take my Sub??? Or is there a good chance that a small amount of methadone is clinging on somewhere that I cant tell is making me feel better while it in fact is still going to put me in the precipitated withdrawal if I move it?

Thanks for your help. Constructive criticism on posting and forum rules would be appreciated especially if there is something I have forgotten.

Thanks Again

72 hours is a general rule of thumb, everyones body is unique. However you want to be in moderate to full WD before sub dosage, especially going from done to sub. The yawns and the tears are the first stage of WD and are considered light WD. Search for the "COWS" scale to more accurately identify how far along your WDs are.

You need to wait until you are in moderate-severe withdrawal to take the suboxone. Everyones body is different so the timing could be before 72 hours, after, etc. You need to base it on your level of withdrawal, not how long its been. It's good your last dose was only 25mg's, that means you wont have to wait as long as if you had taken a larger dose.

Use the COWS scale to help determine when to take the suboxone.

Also if it was me, I'd skip the last dose of methadone, and go to the sub once I felt like shit after the bag. Easier transition and less waiting.

Awesome thank you! At least I know that if I take the methadone its going to be relative to how sick I am
rather than a specific magic hour where it's suddenly okay to take my Sub.

This really helps clear things up.

So I'll just wait til I'm almost crapping myself/flopping like a fishy/Having hot flashes like a 50 year old woman?

Trying to remember why I don't try getting clean very often...it'll come to me lol!

Seriously thank you though for taking a moment to respond I really do appreciate it!

Uggh I know...but unless I throw it away I know I'll take it after I run out of Sub...unless I flush em down the toilet...but that would be a waste lol...I need to dig and see if I can find any kratom around here...might be able to stave off the minor w/d's with kratom while im waiting for the gnarlier stuff to set in...im guessing kratom is out of your system like way fast with how much I have to eat and how often it has to be taken. Thank you for your response as well my friend!

I got some bad news for you sunshine if you are that addicted to heroin then you are already addicted to methadone and suboxone. They are all opiates/opioids. It's the half lives and they way they work in out brains that separate them. Unfortunately you are not alone in the misery of opiate addiction. Godspeed my fellow junkie. I wish you the best of luck and hope the transition is smooth.

Hey Mrballoon, i wish you all the luck too, (as Welderman ^^above), and be fine without troubles..quit the fuckin heroin /methadone road, and have a happy, detoxed and clean new year, mate. You CAN do it, you know it...

5 days to be 100% . i went 48hrs without my 20mg methadone. my sub doc made me eat 3 films at once, he was my former doctor for years, so he knew i would be sick as fuck, made me go in a hospital bed in his private office. it was the most HORRID experience in my life. went from hot and cold sweats to extreme diarreah, flopping like a fish, lastly vomiting. for 3 days i was in ending stages of precip WD, literally sick as fuck. i was on the couch for 3 weeks feeling like i was in mild opiate WD, 2 months later i still felt lite opiate WD feeling, VERY TOUGH transition

Jesus that sounds horrible, man. Did you stay sober after you finally got clean or stabilized on the suboxone?

going back to suboxone was a disaster, the hardest part of precip WD, was all the mental thoughts and emotions negatively flooding ur brain, it literally was comparable to a very bad trip on acid, from crying non stop by just thinking of a time when u took say $5 from ur girlfriend for example, etc..horrid. i ende dup selling all my subs, and buying heroin and methadone..it was a mess..went back on MMT
