methadone suggestions

i typically take around 60 - 80mgs of oxycodone at a time, but am out and ran into a few 10mg methadones. how should i take this...is the feeling at all similar?
 
Start off with 10mg and wait 2 hours before taking another 10mg if you do not feel high. Methadone is some potent shit man, I have overdosed twice from it.
 
i understand that that is how most people overdose on it. they don't feel the effects, so they take more. i understand that it is pretty slow coming on?
 
The feeling is a bit similiar.. I guess.

Methadone has a very heavy, sedating high. Very noddish.
I was addicted to Oxy and am now on Methadone..
and although I love Oxy's stimulating high-
I really do enjoy the Methadone high.

As someone said before, take it SLOW. I use 150mg+ of oxy/day and need around 40mgs of Methadone to feel nice. You are safe starting at 20mgs I believe. DO NOT REDOSE. It takes around 2hrs for the effects to kick in. If you aren't where you want to be after 3 hours or so, maybe take ~10mgs.
 
you're right...it didn't, really. it felt similar to a 50mg dose of oxy with 30 mg dose of morphine i took the other day. made me feel very heavy, with little euphoria. was better than being sick, though.

10mg is what I would take a few months ago if I needed some motivation and I could do an 80mg OC at once. I've taken doses from 5-160mg of methadone and was taking 100mg of methadone a day for a while. Then it would take 240mg of OC to get me high. Maybe 10mg wouldn't do shit for him, but it used to work for me. 10mg of methadone didn't do shit to my friend with a tolerance of 30mg of hydrocodone. Everyone is different.

My main point was to start low to play it safe. My former bupe doctor had a patient who gave 30mg of methadone to one of his friends and that friend died. I've overdosed twice from it, went into cardiac/respiratory arrest, pretty much dead for a few minutes. I wouldn't wish that upon anyone.
 
no, i get it and i appreciate the help. i've overdosed quite a few times on fentanyl, so i understand the gravity of strong opiates....and i play it super-careful.
 
This belongs in Basic Drug Discussion. A Google search for "equivalent opiate dosages" would have given you your answer, as well.

If you simply wish to stay not-sick for a few days, 10mg-20mg a day should suffice.

60mg-80mg Oxycodone is not a very high dose. An opioid equi-potency chart would tell you a ballpark estimate for analgesic equi-potency, not for the purpose you're asking for. An equi-potent dose of Methadone for analgesia would be higher than the dose necessary to maintain you, or get you high.

If you want to get high, I doubt it would take more than 20mg. Keep in mind it takes 30-90 minutes after dosing Methadone before you start to feel it, and about 2.5-3 hours after you dose before reaching maximum blood/plasma concentrations. People often make the mistake of not waiting long enough and redosing too soon.
 
I am on meth Maintance and drank 3-60mg bottles at once,didnt feel anything.Try taking Tegamet400mg and Vistoril or phenegren will boost it
 
MMT patients can often handle several times their daily dose- a person who is not opioid dependant can (and often do) die from Methadone doses that would be routine or miniscule for MMT patients.
